The Great Elmyra –
A fix for the dreaded Brake Servo Restricted message.
Audi A4 2018 2TDI – The dreaded message Brake Servo Restricted popped up on my dash with the auto stop/start fault and a red triangle. When this occurs the ABS works all the time. DO NOT continue to drive the car in this condition as it will ultimately result in a new ABS module at a cost of £3000+.There are plenty of YT videos on how to replace this, on the A4 it lives under the plastic cover on the drivers side, pull forward the bonnet cushion and lift the cover up and the sensor is right in front of you on top of the brake servo. Release the clips that hold it in place and unplug it.As I wasn’t sure this would be a fix, since I had the red triangle on as well I took a punt on this. Surprised to see it has the latest part number and a VAG ident printed on it, probably suggesting they actually make it for VW. Anyway, started the car – message and triangle went and the brakes worked fine, no coding or fault code clearance required. My car still said the auto stop/start was inoperative, but after a drive to make sure the brakes were fine, I switched it off and restarted it and all was good.So in summary, for £14 this saves you hundreds. And please, even if the car says you can still drive it with the message brake servo restricted – DON’T it will trash the ABS module and cost thousands.

Excellent
I rarely get around to giving feedback, but this purchase was exceptional, the item seems to be the genuine Audi item with exactly the same markings and codes as the original item – fantastic value and delivered next day (bank holiday Monday) with Prime.

Brake servo restricted problem solved
I was initially not sure to get my A6 working with this cheap fix but it did. After replacing the defective sensor the brake servo error message disappeared and then the Start-Stop worked again after the 2 nd engine start.Takes some time to remove the sensor and put the new one in place â¦.

Worked as expected on 2019 Audi B9 with brake servo restricted error
Worked as expected on 2019 Audi B9 with brake servo restricted and stop start not functioning, after some research I read a forum thread of horrors about ABS pumps failing if you continue to drive, causing thousands in repairs. Audi sell this sensor for £70 and it is quite a common issue. I bought this to tide me over before getting an OEM one.
