Worked on my Android tablet & Oldish Android phone
Both my Android products use the USB-C connection type so the old OTG I had in my drawer did not work. So I bought this to try out an external usb audio DAC (AudioQuest DragonFly Red) and found it worked first time on both with no hassle. I have also used it with a USB memory stick to load music files onto the mobile as it does not have an sd-card slot.It appears well made & sturdy so only time will tell if it rates a 5 star from me.

Brilliant, works perfectly on my Galaxy A5 (2017)
I have spent some time trying to find a way of copying or reading files from and to my Samsung A5 (2017). Another adapter (USB C to micro USB) device I have bought from Amazon previously allows me to charge the A5 and copy files to my Windows PC, but refused to be recognised by the A5 when connected to my micro USB card reader.I was nearly put off by the price of this Techgear type C USB adaptor, I mean for £2.95 it has to be cheap rubbish, doesn’t it. Well no actually, this is totally amazingly a robustly made quality adaptor.So I plugged it in with a memory stick attached at the female end and waited. A tiny icon appeared exactly where it should on the top LHS corner of the phone, so that was good, but there was no sign of the device in file manager. After a bit of fiddling around I noticed a message that was in the virtual panel that slides down from the top of the phone with a finger swipe, saying corrupt device but offering to reformat. So I accepted that request and seconds later all was working perfectly with the memory stick showing in the file manager. The request to format was odd because this was a perfectly functioning memory still in constant use on my Windows PC, but it hasn’t affected anything and the stick still works normally on Windows as well as Android.So all good and I am a really happy customer.

It does what I want ie occasionally attach a USB drive to my phone. I think they now have USB drives with OTG built in. But for how often I need to connect a USB stick to my phone this product is fine. Not exciting but functional.
