The device I knew I needed but never knew existed until now
This monitor acts as a second screen for a variety of devices. However I have been using it for entertainment purposes by connecting it to my Google Pixel phone so I can watch TV on a larger screen when Iâm working from home. The only way I can get through a long 10-hour night shift with no company is to watch TV (and I donât have a TV in my office) but obviously the screen on my phone is small so being able to mirror it to this 15.6â screen has transformed my cheeky TV watching experience and makes my night shifts less boring.The quality is actually really good although I do wish it was a bit louder. It does not have its own power supply which is good because it doesnât take up another power socket and you can position it where you want, but it does drain my phone battery that bit faster. I like the case which enables it to stand up. It’s not too heavy. It was really easy to set up with my phone â my phone recognised it straightaway and asked if I wanted to mirror to it but my husbandâs iPhone just wouldnât recognise it â he thinks it might need an adapter which weâd have to buy separately.All in all, this is the device I knew I needed but never knew existed until now. If I had known what it was that I needed I would definitely have paid for this as I actually use it regularly.

Fantastic Portable Monitor
This MAGICRAVEN 15.6″ portable monitor is absolutely brilliant! The 1080P FHD IPS display is super sharp and clear, perfect for extending my laptop screen for work or for gaming. It’s incredibly thin (0.35 inches) and lightweight (1.36 lbs), genuinely more portable than a magazine, making it ideal for travel or working from cafes. It’s truly plug-and-play with just a single USB-C cable for compatible devices, which is so convenient. The magnetic smart cover doubles as a sturdy stand, and the built-in dual speakers are a nice bonus. It supports multiple display modes and landscape/portrait viewing.

This is a tough one for me to review.The monitor is OK. The image quality isn’t fantastic and the colours are a little washed out. It works fine connected via a USB C to C connector to a laptop.The controllers are fiddly and oddly the wrong way around, i.e. the increase button is on the left and decrease on the right but the onscreen display is the other way around. For example if you want to increase brightness then pressing the left button makes the bar move to the right.My main complaint is the connection. I got this for connecting via HDMI, which the manual says needs me to use the included power adapter and USB A to C cable. Neither were included. The manual also says to check the packaging for all the connectors before use and the states again that there is a power adpater and USB A to C lead.I contacted the seller and was informed that the manual is wrong and no adapter or power lead is included.This also makes me uncertain how much I trust the other reviews saying that all the adapters are included, because they are not.To be fair the monitor comes tightly packed in the box and I don’t know where they would have fitted a power adapter, so I do believe that it’s not included.My standard USB A adapters don’t work as it has to be able to supply a minimum of 20w.So, to use this as advertised I have to buy a power adapter, which it says is included, but isn’t.If you are using this for USB C from a device able to output power and video over USB C then it has everything you need.If you want to use HDMI then it doesn’t.

It works, it looks ok but lacks adapters and the case is not great.
I have mixed feelings about this portable monitor. On the one hand, it is very handy to have an extra screen, especially when I need to check something at 1080p resolution. But I do find the controls a little clunky, and there are no adapters provided for things like Thunderbolt to HDMI, so if I wanted to connect my iPhone 13, it is not possible without an adapter. It would have been nice to see things like this included.I am also not overly keen on the case. It folds out so that you can stand it on your desk, etc, but the monitor is held in place by these fabric flaps, and yes, they do the job, but this is definitely not the best case I have seen. It just feels a little budget if I can put it that way.The monitor does work. It does what it is supposed to, but I can’t shake the feeling that it has not been as well implemented as it could have been.

Use this daily as a portable monitor for my PC setup and itâs been running smooth. Great quality screen and no issues with connections using USB-C. It’s slim, the display is fantastic, and it’s very easy to use. It’s made presenting work from my laptop so much more professional. Makes multitasking way easier and takes up barely any space.
