    A good product
Although I had to send the first one back as it had not only been opened but the TB4 cable was missing, this is a review of the product, not Amazon’s sloppy restocking. It runs cooler than many reviewers note, but that’s probably because I’m not using it for heavy video work. It looks and feels quality, my TB4 SSD runs just as fast (Blackmagic speed test) as plugged straight into my Mac and it’s rather good. It also has other peripherals attached but I can’t comment on video feed as I dont use it for that.I had it originally on an M1 MacMini and now on an MacBook Pro M4 Max.

Very well made. Looks great. Works perfectly with Mac Mini M4
Bought this as a replacement for the Sabrent Thunderbolt 4 Hub which made my desk look untidy due to the upstream port being on the front of the device. This UGREEN hub is currently being used for 2 external LaCie hard drives and also for my monitor. It has 3 USB-A ports on the front allowing me to connect my peripherals that still use this type of connection (keyboard, midi keyboard, mouse charger etc). The unit is very well made and quite heavy aluminium. Great piece of kit.

A very capable Thunderbolt dock for a ‘reasonable’ price
It’s difficult to give verdicts on value for Thunderbolt docks as Intel’s licensing costs as frankly obscene and push these items into a price territory somewhere between obscenely silly and highway holdup. In operation, however, having had this dock for several weeks now, it has not put a foot wrong. Power supplied has been consistent and accurate, the ports all work as designated and the unit manages to avoid getting too hot.All in all not a bad unit and certainly worth considering.

A stellar reliable Thunderbolt 4 dock that has an honest description.
Whilst I’ve been searching around, looking for the optimal solution to use my Desktop, MacBook and Steam Deck with one set of periphals, I found out that TB4 has backwards compatibilty with USB4 and USB3.Looking into the User Guide and seeing as Ugreen has directly address Steam Deck/ROG Ally support, I jumped on the gun and ordered this dock, being my first forte into the world of Thunderbolt and it’s compatbility with devices that have varying USB specs.I got it all connected to my peripherals, and even connected my ethernet cable, to it and started testing. From my PC – which has USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) – I am able to get ~900Mbps down on the ethernet and as well as use Portable SSD drives, whilst still getting full bandwidth. With my Steam Deck, which also uses USB 3.2 Gen 2, has USB-C DP Alt Mode meaning that it can send a display output through the dock without an issue. But being a dock, you don’t get the full DisplayPort bandwidth. This means with the dock, my monitor would only go to 3440×1440@100 whereas with a direct connection – with the USB-C to DP Cable – from the Deck, it could go to 3440×1440@165 not an issue. This isn’t an issue with the Ugreen Max 208 but the limit of USB 3.2 Gen 2 sadly. For the MacBook, it works perfectly fine and at full speed with my monitor which is to be expected as it supports Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 natively.Overall, if you’re looking for a pure USB-C Thunderbolt 4 dock with pass-through charging, I highly recommend this dock.

Legitimately cannot believe how awesome this thing is
Plug this thing into my M4 Pro with one cable that comes with the box and get:1. Charging my MBP2. 2 x 4K screens fed3. SSD connected at top supported speed4. Port to charge my iPhone5. Port to charge AirPodsAll at the same time. And still have 1 each spare of USB-C and USB-A, and an ethernet port. Small, tidy, and great build quality. Well impressed.

    Unstable
I got this to run several HDs at once on Thunderbolt – but it keeps unmounting drives and is very unstable.

Not Suitable for High-Bandwidth Input Devices
If you’re planning to use this device to connect multiple high-bandwidth peripherals to your Mac—such as webcams—it’s best to consider alternative options. When more than one webcam is connected, the hub reverts to USB 2.0 speeds, capped at 480 Mbps. For the record, the same limitation applies to the Revodok and even the CalDigit TS4, for example. These docks are primarily designed for video output and multiple displays, but they do not perform well when handling multiple high-speed input devices.

Perfect with MacBook Pro (M3 Pro)
Perfect for my needs. One Thunderbolt 4 input to connect the docking station, and on an M3 Pro MacBook Pro it drives two full HD (1080p) HDMI monitors directly from the docking station. The monitors are connected via Thunderbolt to HDMI cables. And it provides power to the MacBook via the same connection too.It has the three Thunderbolt 4 outputs at the back and three USB3 at the front, which is the right number for me (leaving one each spare). It gets lukewarm when in use but not hot, and the power button is really useful too.Do bear in mind that with M1/M2/M3 you need the Pro or Max version of the chip on MacBooks as otherwise you will only be able to drive one monitor from the docking station.
