A solid choice
I recently upgraded my home PC and picked up the Lexar NQ100 2.5â SATA III 960GB SSD as a backup drive. I’ve been running it via a USB 3.0 enclosure rather than internally, and I’m genuinely impressed with its performance.The speeds are excellent, consistently hitting up to 540MB/s read and 500MB/s write. This makes transferring large files a breeze. The build quality feels very similar to a Samsung Evo, which is a testament to its solid construction.What truly sets this SSD apart is its incredible price. Under £40 for a near 1TB SSD is amazing value. Additionally, the rated write endurance is listed at 168TB (which equates to approximately 96GB per day for five years). This is more than enough for average users who use their PCs for web browsing, document editing, light gaming, and general tasks. Or, like myself, need a back-up drive. If you’re a content creator (video editing, graphic design), frequently perform large backups, or run data-intensive applications, you might prefer an SSD with a higher TBW rating for your main drive.If you are looking for a budget friendly drive that does not sacrifice speed or build quality, this is the drive for you.

The unit itself seemed well made and worked as expected. Easy to install but if you are using as a relacement laptop drive and you want to transfer data you will need a separate USB to Sata adapter and appropriate software.

Data Throughput Issue And Filesystem Corruption on Linux
I can’t recommend these drives, there’s a consistent issue using them under Linux on various desktops and laptops that I manage.I’ve bought about 8 of the 240GB drives over the past months and 4 of them (so far) have suffered from filesystem errors when under heavier read/write load, say when compiling applications.This is the case across desktop and laptop machines that I’ve installed them in.Linux remounts the filesystem as “read only” due to filesystem corruption, the machine has to be rebooted in single user mode to clean the filesystem and then the machine boots and runs fine – until it happens again maybe 30 minutes to an hour later.I do not get this problem with other SSDs like the Patriot ones and I am moving from these Lexar drives to them – there’s something not right with these drives.

Ho aspettato un pò prima di scrivere la recensione ma tanto sui prodotti informatici è un terno al lotto per la durata.Comunque prodotto arrivato un giorno di anticipo con spedizione gratuita oltre i 35 euro, scocca in plastica ma l’estetica conta poco in quanto fa il suo lavoro egregiamente.Avevo un HDD meccanico sul portatile abbastanza vecchiotto e per caricare il sistema operativo impiegava 2 minuti circa, con questo SSD Sata sono arrivato a 25 secondi di caricamento.Per la durata non si può stabilirlo ma il prodotto è molto buono considerando il prezzo basso.I valori di lettura e scrittura sono più o meno quelli descritti per un Sata.Consigliato
