Customers say
Customers find the network switch works well, is easy to set up, and offers good value for money. They appreciate its compact size, with one customer noting the power supply is small enough to hide, and its port capacity, with one mentioning it handles all Ethernet cables. The build quality and speed receive mixed feedback – while some find it well-made and fast, others report units failing after 4 months of use.

Excellent little PoE switch at a bargain price. It is a TP-Link brand
Just before Christmas, I decided to re-jig our network, splitting it in two, moving some of the local only traffic onto another subnet, with its own router. As part of this reorganisation, I realised that we required an additional PoE switch, so let my fingers walk across the keyboard.I found a few switches within the budget I had set, this on from Mercusys was one of them, along with the usual suspects including TP-Link. I like TP-Link, their warranty is excellent, there was a 5 port TP-Link (4 PoE ports) which was £1 more expensive than this Mercusys one, which has 8 ports (7 PoE ports).I’d seen quite a bit of Mercusys equipment popping up whilst searching for equipment, though never purchased one, until I ordered this one. I have to say; I am really pleased with this PoE switch, though the icing on the cake was a sticker saying Mercusys is a TP-Link brand, I suppose in the same way as Kasa and Tapo.Have been using this switch for a couple of weeks, it has been flawless performance wise. When I purchased this switch, it was £25.99 which I consider this to be a bargain, when you know it is a TP-Link brand. For me, it is a definite 5 star recommendation.

no fuss and works great
bought to replace a 5 port switch of the same make as I stupidly thought 5 ports would be enough. had no hesitation buying Mercusys again as the 5 port was fantastic and ran rock solid for months without issue.the unit feels solid, power supply feels like its built well and it works out of the box with no configuration required. POE requirement is auto detected, literally nothing to config, just plug it in and forget about it.no hesitation recommending this brand.

Made by TP great network connections
This was well priced and as usual delivered quickly by Amazon. There is a very slight delay when connecting of a few seconds , but this could be the appliance as opposed to the switch, once connected the speed is fast and smooth. The switch is compact and has an option button for the outlets not to talk to one another if you wanted separate traffic to the internet. The switch also has two priority ports for items such as cameras ( I have a Tv in one of these). I wish I bought one years ago, just plug and play , would recommend

I’m disgusted with myself it took me this long to buy one..
I like to game & run some home servers for my friends & family to play on together. I also video edit & host a video library for Plex for the same. So I’m always transferring files to & from when making changes & so on. Normally having edited & converted movies or TV shows, I have to move them onto a portable HDD & then plug that into the system I want them to be transferred to, because using ANY remote desktop software, be it built in windows, TeamViewer or whatever, the speeds were poor, literally 2-3mbps.So I decided to give this a try, for £13, you really can’t go wrong & I wasn’t expecting much. So I connected the ethernet I have plugged into my router I receive my fibre broadband from that I have extended around my home to a ethernet box, I then plug an ethernet into an additional router. I switched that router for this & connected all the systems by ethernet. To put it in simple terms, my transfer speeds for a 2gb video file went from 2-3mb/s to 80-100mb/s & depending on the software you use. I no longer have to transfer onto & off a portable hdd every time I want to move files around, I can use the built in HDD sharing feature & add it to my network drives. Some have said they needed to reboot their router for it to detect it, I didn’t.Some said it feels like it’s overheating. I have all my ethernets in use & online, and it’s as cold as the wall it’s attached to.No configuration needed. Unless you have a specialised requirement for local networks, unmanaged is more than OK. The speed is fire superior to ANY wifi router you can buy on the market, and I know this because I have a high end one I use fed off from the poor router my network provider issues. The only thing you need to consider, is why you didn’t buy one sooner. In case anyone needs to know, yes you can hook up a wifi router to it & it’ll work perfectly fine if you need to extend the wifi reach in your home. And no, this will not improve your internet speed. It’s purpose is to increase the speed between computers that’s connected to it. So if you move files from one PC to another or stream movies by having a media server connected, it will improve the speed significantly. You will still get the normal broadband speeds with a wifi router if you plug a wife from the router into this, any port will do.I mean, it’s £13 people, that’s the average cost for a decent HDMI cable….

Quite possibly the best value switch currently available.
Superb value for money. Mercusys is a sub-brand of TP-Link. Most brands seem to charge an excessive amount if you want (or need) a POE switch and are often around double the amount of this little beastie.Obviously I’d prefer a higher POE budget, but let’s be real – it’s an exceptionally inexpensive POE switch with a more than adequate 65w POE budget.Yes, it’s in a plastic case, and yes, I’d prefer a metal chassis, but that’s not going to happen any time soon at this price point. If you need a 7 port switch (POE or not), do yourself a favour and just buy this one. Even if you don’t need POE now, you could well in the future and at this price point it seems a bit daft to buy anything else. It’s literally plug and play – just use halfway decent patch cables.

Powering a UniFi U7 pro
No problems at all. Plug and play, literally. Took no effort and using Poe+ my u7 pro sprang to life.

Works well especially at the price
I was just looking for a cheap switch with Poe for my surveillance camera. I did not expect it to be particularly fast but it shows full speed on my gigabit network.Good value for money
