A Year Later and Still Going Strong
I have been using this portable SSD for over a year now, and I am very impressed with it. I only use it every so often, but it has always worked perfectly when I have needed it. The speed is good, and it is very portable and durable.I have used it to store and transfer large files, including videos and backups of my laptop, and it has performed flawlessly. I have also taken it with me on trips, and it has held up well to the wear and tear of travel.Overall, I highly recommend the Integral 240GB Portable SSD Drive USB 3.0 External SSD Black. It is a great value for the price and is perfect for anyone who needs a fast and reliable portable SSD.

Very swift delivery. The 500 GB one works normally … but PLASTIC, not aluminium!
Very good, tiny Integral drive. The 500 GB one works normally on Windoze 7 and 10 and 11.No attachment / installation difficulties. BUT it’s PLASTIC, not aluminium!Probably won’t last for more than a year.

Great speed. Would recommend.
Iâve always liked the Integral brand and never had any problems with their products.Very good ssd although you need to plug it into the usb 3.2 gen 2 2×2 port to get the best speeds. Would recommend. Very quick 4TB version

Speeds through USB-C broadly as advertised for a good price
This drive as of writing was probably the cheapest 1TB External SSD with 1000MB/s advertised speed from a known brand. Given that a few years ago I paid not much less for the same capacity spinning HDD, I’d say it is a reasonable price.I have tested the speed and it is precisely as advertised: CrystalDiskMark reported 1000MB/s Read and 973MB/s write, broadly within the advertised speed. Though half my internal SSD speed of 2250MB/s read, it was 9x faster writing, as my internal SSD writes at about 110MB/s.This was with a direct USB C to C connection using the supplied cable.Note, if you do not have a USB-C port… buy a new adapter. The one included is pathetic, and speeds dropped to a sluggish 42MB/s – this is worse than half than a traditional external HDD, my Toshiba achieved 108MB/s via USB 3 connection..So in terms of the drives performance I cannot really fault it for my use case, mainly storing games and backups – upgrading from the HDD.Design: About the same length but half the width of my HDD, it is very portable. The black aluminium is a decent finish and does feel nicer than plastic enclosed drives, and should be durable. The edge of the drive has the size printed on it in a bit of a cheap-looking front, and the back has hideous regulatory symbols on it. The top is simply the integral logo.Packaging: Quite environmentally friendly – no plastic, just cardboard. Can’t really be used to store the drive though, so straight into recycling it is.#Other features: None. Being a cheaper drive, there is so special software to go with it, hardware encryption or the like. I am not that bothered about this, it is plain and simple and does the job. An activity LED is something I miss compared to my HDD.Heat: It does get slightly warm to the touch after sustained write loads in particular.Suitability for gaming: Excellent, so far I have only quickly tried it with Honkai Star Rail and compared to the HDD it was far superior.

SSD 240GB, student, family, console, Low end pc builds ideal for.
I’ve attached some picture to show its pros and consPros:-240gb SSD, does what it says.3.0 usbSmall and ideal for students, families budget gamers aswell as gaming consolesIt’s an ssd, so it’s obviously quicker than a HD 500gb 1tb (depends on brands from there)Ideal for xbox and ps5 ect, 400mbs upload is good for gaming consoles but pcs no. On a desktop we would go through 3-5 ssd’s because pc games are huge with mods, extension sites, streaming, software ectExpect to pay between £25-50 anywhere for this model.Cons:-Read speed 400mbs (slow) not for mid or high level desktop laptop gaming. High end pcs worth £3000 wouldn’t even touch this with a ten foot pole.Very….. very short cable.. photo I showed it cant be attached to the back of your laptop for on the go trecks. I got a velcro pocket for my ssd’s.–When your laptop or computer console is turned off you can unplug the usb but dont unplug when it’s all turned on and running this could result in a data loss. That’s just standard. Dont unplug something that’s running turn it off first.

Brilliant SSD drive
Bought this as a secondary back up device and have to say it works a treat. Copied music, films and all my work related files (Images documents and large print ready files) in quick time. Very handy size and 1TB is more than enough as a back up. Well worth the money.

Misleading Write Speed
Misleading regarding 2,000 write speed, as you can see, I’m transferring files from my laptop to this external SSD, and it’s going at 590MBs, far cry from the 2,000MBsIt’s small and light, though I can’t help but feel Sandisk may have been a better purchase considering their advertise write speed is around 1000MBs so I could expect it to be around 600MBs or so.
