A review of the Ainviv Usb 3 to Sata adapter.A great little item if you have a few bare Ssd’s.I’d previously bought the Sabrent external housing, that does the same job, for my 3.5″ bare drives but having just built 2 new Pc’s I decided to reconfigure my internal drives which would have meant needing another two of the Sabrentsâ¦.@ c.£30 each.I usually have 4 internals, one for the OS, one for temporary files till sorted & transferred to the extenals, a third for recorded video and one for music.Only the video drive is a standard 3.5″, the others being Ssd’s.Anyways, I figured if I made the Temp. & Music files external it wouldn’t matter which machine I was using as I could simply swap the Usb3 cables from these adapters to the one I was currently using.They work a treat & are perfect for this job.There’s 2 led’s, red for power & blue that flashes when reading or writing to the disc.Both have been running c.18 hours a day for the past month and I’ve had no problems with them at all.Transfer speeds are c.400mbs on my machine with a single 2gb file taking 4 secs from Ssd to Ssd & 21 secs for a mixed data file @ 8.5gb.I wouldn’t use them with my external 3.5″ drives as I have found before that you can have problems as they need a proper/seperate power supply due to their power requirements.Several Usb3 hubs & adapters I have had, irrespective of price, have had this issue but for Ssd use these are ideal.At the price they are a bargain and I’ve saved c.£50 which is nice.

Lights up but that is it, i have tried 7 drives that all work in my docking centre but none of them work with this cable contraption it is what is known as Useless! don’t waste your money

Stopped reading after a while. No idea why. Tried an older cable I had with the same HDD and it worked fine.
