Great little gadget
The ThirdReality USB Motion Sensor is a pretty little gadget that works well for basic motion detection.Itâs compact and easy to set up, and plugs in nicely into my Amazon Echo Flex.The motion detection is fairly accurate and responsive, and is ideal for triggering lights or notifications when someone enters a room.A handy device – perfect for simple automation tasks!

I previously used battery operate you sensors but they eat up batteries so got some of these after years of thinking about it. There plug and play which is great, easy to use with Alexa routines the only down part is it doesnât have a built in light sensor for disk to dawn routines you have to use timed ones if you want motion activated night lights or you can use it to send an custom Alexa message to an Alexa device or to the attached echo flex eg âmovement detectedâ.I brought 2 for £20 I wouldnât spend more than that and would get two more if they were £5 eachâ¦

Handy device for alexa
I bought this thinking it was a light aswell as a motion detector, but it’s not. I should have realised.But the routine is really easy to set up to make it turn on lights etc when motion is detected.I have set it up with an alexa flex that is situated opposite an under stairs cupboard. So when you go upto the cupboard door it turns on a light inside the cupboard.Unfortunately this stopped working after I dropped it. But a quick reset of the alexa flex and it started working again.

Excellent PIR addons
These connect easily (but make sure the sockets are not too close to the ground). recognised immediately and very easy to set up routines to send notifications or turn on lights etc. Will be getting more !!

I have not tried but I suspect you can plus into ant USB that can provide power. With the discontinued Flex unit these work very well. Easy set up and good detection capabilities

Does NOT pair with Alexa
For what I hoped would be a simple frustration free add on this will not pair or even be discovered by Alexa app at all. The blue light comes on to signal motion but Tried all resets to get working, goggling shows this is common problem and yet to find a fix, gutted.

Je regrette que le écho flex ne soit plus commercialisé (pour l’instant ?), car associé au détecteur de mouvement, il devient très vite indispensable pour des automatisations du tonnerre.Par exemple pour activer une routine Alexa lorsqu’un mouvement est détecté, ou bien au contraire lorsque plus aucun mouvement n’est détecté.

In abbinamento a Echo Flex mi ha permesso di creare scene per accendere una luce in piena notte senza dover andare a cercare fisicamente l’interruttore. Avendo una persona anziana basta un movimento che venga rilevato per poter accendere una luce di cortesia. Peccato che non fanno più Echo Flex

Der Bewegungsmelder war an meinem Echo Flex lange Zeit im Einsatz und hat im Treppenhaus die indirekte Flur Beleuchtung für die Nacht gesteuert.Die Reichweite des Sensors ist nicht enorm weit (kann aber auch an der höhe meines Echo Flex liegen, welcher an einer Steckdose auf Bodenhöhe war). Aber wenn er reagiert hat dann recht zügig und zuverlässig.Kann ich absolut empfehlen.
