Grainy lense, not crisp. Miles below my 50mm
I seen some pretty good reviews here thats why i purchased this for doing some Model studio shots. Its bad quality, shots are not clean. Compasion between my 50mm sony lense. There is no competition. Not even close.This was a regrettable purchase.

Good product for price
Produces a sharp image but does not work so great with auto focusing as it can be temperamental even in daylight. Already aware that lens makes alot of noise when focusing, but very good when using jn manual.

Pretty sharp, not bad autofocus after firmware update but with horrible chromatic aberration
autofocus is usable only after recent firmware update. Otherwise it keeps loosing focus and just scans the range. It isnât quiet either so itâs pretty annoying when it constantly trying to find focus point in continuous af mode.The other disadvantage of that lens that itâs generating pretty big chromatic aberration.Works much better with AF work after firmware update which literally takes 2 minutesItâs sharp enough from f2.2

Non voglio essere eccessivamente severo nella mia recensione perché resta un obiettivo veramente economico ma la qualità costruttiva è veramente bassa e lâauto focus fatica molto in condizioni di luce mancante o eccessiva, arrivando persino al crash in unâoccasione. La lente non sarebbe nemmeno pessima sebbene non abbia una grandissima nitidezza, rovinata però da importanti aberrazioni cromatiche, il bokeh invece è molto piacevole. Consiglio se non si hanno grandissime pretese e se si ha lâoccasione di usarlo soprattutto su soggetti non in forte movimento o preferibilmente fermi e in condizioni di luce ottimale. Segnalo inoltre che sul mio esemplare, probabilmente difettato, il paraluce fatica molto ad entrare in sede. Consiglio comunque di orientarsi su ottiche più rinomate usate In quanto non ci sarà una grandissima differenza di prezzo, provvederò ad effettuare il reso soprattutto per il difetto del paraluce.

This lens has flaws like chromatic aberration at wide apertures but goes away at f2 – f2.8. What I like with this lens is, of course, the price and also good for portraiture coz of the shallow depth of field. The bokeh is very smooth. Also, I was able to use it on low light scenes (like in a bowling center). The colors are crisp. It also fits with one my photography genre which is landscape. It’s not perfect or comparable to other high end 85 mm lenses, but for the price, it’s worth it. I find this lens fun to use. It’s always attached to my Sony A7IV most of the time.

I am always glad to see more lenses on the market. Especially with new brands and thought i might test the meike 85mm 1.8 out.I have multiple 85mm lenses and like to compare them. So i made several shootings now with this lense and its very light and the AF-works very good. Tested on a Sony a7iii, Sony a7iv and Sony a1.This lense combines a good bokeh with an affordable price. Especially for fullframe cameras lenses with 1.8 aperture can be very expensive. After several shootings i am still very happy with this purchase!For everyone who wants a great lense to get into portrait photography with prime lenses this is the way to go!Updated: now after months still satisfied! If something will not work i will update it here.

at first i was not sure what to expect from the lens at this price range ,but this lens is nothing short of amazingThe only downside is that its 97% plastic made and the manual focus ring is not as smoothbut aside of that it is quick and reliableITS A MUST HAVE
