Let any appliance become smart and connected in a simple yet very effective way
Great tool to control any lighting or electrical appliances using the Switchbot app on the phone or even your smart assistant (I’ve tried it with Google home and works perfectly). It’s a must have if you have any other Switchbot product as it integrates perfectly in their app, so you can find everything in one place (the automations on the app are a big plus).Installation is quite simple, well explained in the instructions included in the box.For its price is a no brainer!

good stuff
Works well once set up, but installation can be a bit tricky. Connecting to Wi-Fi and getting everything configured took some time, especially with HomeKit. Once running, it responds quickly to voice commands and app controls. The built-in hub is a nice feature, reducing the need for extra devices. Feels sturdy and handles high-power appliances without issues.

High quality!
Perfect kit for a DIY home automation set up. My partner has been working on this for a while and needs these relays to help control certain appliances so that you can use them with a home assistant. These are of excellent quality and easy to work with, perfect for our intended use. Highly recommended.

Not an easy install for UK light switches.
They are nice neat products which deserves a 5 star rating. However, the description is misleading for UK customers as it says that the install will be quick and easy. Most UK light switches do not have a neutral wire available and are often in slim mounting boxes which are too small for these switch bots. There are still ways to use them but the installation and wiring will need some planning and you may require some plaster work to be done. If you plan to hire an electrician to install these then I would advise consulting before purchase.

Smart alternative to replacing the switch itself
This SwitchBot is a great little product at making any ordinary switch into a smart switch. One problem I’ve always had with smart switches themselves is the inability to get them working on my WiFi network or because of the wiring system in my house so I’ve often had to opt for the smart bulbs rather than switches and it’s much easier and cheaper to get it working from the switch. This device is easy to wire in and tucks in nicely behind the switch itself – given its intricate size. This does make it a little fiddly to get the wiring correct but the instructions are very clear on the wiring with which wire goes into which slot and when the electrics are back alive, it’s easy to pair them up to the app. Given the set comes as a 2 pack, it represents great value for money and it hooks up easily as a skill to Alexa or other smart home devices to give you digitalised control over your lighting (or any other device if you wish) in both schedules or just voice activation – both of which are highly useful options!

Smart and effective once installed properly
On paper the SwitchBot Smart Relay Switch 1 appears like a smart upgrade to your light or power switches around the household. It all the features are contained in one device and, for the price of £30 you get a pair, each device is effectively £15.The device functions wirelessly through an app and Bluetooth connectivity, if the app or power does go out you still get connectivity. This is perfect for programming and controlling switches, such as having lights turn on and off while you’re away or have power sources turn off such as fan ventilation systems. This gives you to extra security but also the extra flexibility to control your appliances remotely, something I thought would be perfect. The issue though, when you get the switches, is that the switches heavily rely on the size of your switch box, as though it says it will fit, the size is somewhat larger than some of the light switch boxes we have around the house. That and some of the light switches do not have a neutral line, where the smart switch relies on needing. As such, this workes well for ceiling lights however, if you don’t have the DIY capabilities, this can be a difficult sell. If you have it all set up, it depends on your apps or using bluetooth to power on the switch remotely.Buy with caution.

Hard to setup. Almost no support.
Difficult to configure and slow support make this a product I can’t recommend. I returned my purchase.
