Well built, reliable.
I’d intended to buy the very similar metal box version, but as it happens, the low weight and the layout of the output sockets of this unit were a better fit to my desk, where this is stuck to the vertical side. I think a heavier metal unit would not have stayed in place. Being stuck in place, it stays put despite the weight of 8 or so leads hanging from it. If you want a desktop unit, with a smaller footprint and maybe greater weight for stability, then I’d recommend you spend the extra £10 and get the metal box version.Functionally, it seems to be flawless. Works first time every time. The only hiccups I have had have been traceable to tired micro-USB plugs on the leads used to connect this to my phone etc.It has bright blue lamps to indicate a live connection. I was pleasantly surprised to find that these weren’t dumb “power on” indicators, but light up to show when a connection is active. Makes tracing things that have become unplugged much easier. And they all switch off when the attached PC is powered down, which is important if used in a bedroom.I have bought StarTech kit for use at work, and their products have consistently offered good build quality and reliable performance. This unit is no exception.

This Hub doews exactly what it says on the box – plug it in and is immediately recognised by computer. However, externally, apart from the branding, this appears identical to the Anker version that is cheaper (buy the cheaper model and save money!). Also, this hub has a ridiculously short mains lead.

Super simple to use. Plug in the power plug in USB devices and it just works. Brill!

Good quality but does not shut down bult in LED, nor power supply to the ports when disconnected from the host. So it’s good if you want to use it to charge stuff but not good for applications like connecting peripherals as they will be powered the whole time. If peripherals have LEDs they will be always lit.

I use an iPad as a secondary screen on my PC and needed a hub that does 12w minimum and data at the same time. This one does!

私はこの商品を2個購入させて貰いました。正直、今まで様々な格安USB3.0ハブを購入してきましたが、この製品がダントツで良かったですね。まぁ…、本来の価格が1万円以上する上に、割り引かれたとしても7000円前後はしますから、考えてしまう気持ちは十分に分かります。（稀に特価で5、6000円位になることもありますが、狙えるものではありません）しかし、安いUSBハブって、コスト面こそ素晴らしいのですが…。数か月たつと、高頻度でポートが複数死んだり、PCを起動するたびにプチプチ切れて調子が悪くなるという、厄介者でもあるわけです。私はこれが起こるたびに、何度もUSBハブを買い替えてきましたが、もうそれも限界でした。こうすぐに故障していたら、どんなに安く済んだとしても、結果的には、予算を無尽蔵に使っているのと変わりありません。そう、まさに安物買いの銭失いってやつですね。なので、良い製品を買ってPCを安定させることにしたのです。そこで、最終的に私が選んだのが、この商品でした。この商品を使ってみた結果なのですが…。…そうですね、更にゲーム機用に1個を買い足して、最終的には3個になりましたとも。(;^ω^)その分、予算もぶっ飛びましたが、後悔はありません！このUSBハブは、それ程使えるものといっても決して過言ではないのです。実際に、かなり丈夫な作りで、安価なUSBハブのようにすぐにポートが死んだり、不安定になったりはしません。まぁ、そもそもの話…。USBハブは沢山の機器や記憶媒体を繋げる手前、様々なものを捌かねばならず、結果的に負荷がかかって壊れやすいのですよね。どこかのポートがある日突然死んだり、不安定になってしまうのは、大体これが理由です…。（勿論、初期不良や相性問題、更には、本体パーツの不良といった可能性もありえます）上記の事から、USBハブは、壊れても当然で仕方なし、と言った要素が多々あるわけです。現に、比較的高めのUSBハブは、高品質なチップや耐久性のある素材を使用する等、様々な箇所に改良が加えられている製品が多いですから。まぁ、高コストで高品質だから必ずしも良いものという事ではありませんがね…。（中には、低コストで高機能な商品もあるでしょうし）とは言え、この商品にも少なからず欠点はあります。この商品で言えば、本体サイズと価格がヤバい、付属のコネクターオプションがいらない、ACアダプターが大きめ等…。なので、用途と目的、サイズ、価格、デザイン、付属パーツなど…、様々な点を考慮して、欲しいと直感的に思うものを購入するのがベストなのかもしれません。《良い点》①安物とは比較にならない耐久度と安定性能（ポートが壊れたり、動作不安定になったものは1台もありません）②動作中の各ポートは、一つ一つ青いLEDランプが点灯して教えてくれる（電源タップの電力節約用のLEDスイッチと同じ原理）③7ポート全てがほぼ安定して動作する（ACアダプターはあるが、ゲーム機等からの供給だと電力が足りず、7ポート全てが動かない可能性あり）④PS5でも、普通に動作した（7ポート中、6ポートまでは認識した、…どのポートも認識するが、7ポート目を指すと、ランプが点灯しなかった）⑤PC等、メインに接続するUSBケーブルが脱着式（これによって、ケーブルが断線しても交換可能となっている）《悪い点》①ACアダプターが少しデカイ（他のACアダプターも大体似たようなものかもです）②本体がやや大きいサイズなので、設置場所に注意（平べったいので、隙間には入れやすいかも）③付属のACアダプターの海外用コネクターオプション3種がいらない（全く使わないコネクターなので、日本仕様分は付属させずに、その分の金額を削ってほしい）
