It looks great but is a little hard to open and the compartment very small.
This doesn’t give a great first impression. It just comes in a plain bag with no instructions. When you get it out things get a little better. It does indeed look exactly the same as a car key. The key springs open exactly like the real one. The only thing that gives it away are that the 3 main buttons don’t press and the metal key has no ridges.You have to look on the site here for instructions on how to use it. Essentially pop the key, use it to lever the main body off then prise open the little compartment. Which is very hard to do. Which is probably good news if you’re hiding stuff in it.The compartment inside is smaller than it looks in the pictures. I could get 2 x chewing gum chiclets in and that was it. So if you’re taking stuff in it, it will need to be a very small amount of stuff.For the price it is pretty good. It is fairly well made, it looks just like a car key. The bits that are metal on the real key are metal on this. Under close scrutiny you can tell it’s not real but you’d have to be really looking at it. And for £7 it is a steal I think. I received this free of charge to review as part of the Vine Programme. Would I spend my own money on it? Yes I would. It’s a good price for what it is and works well enough. A decent product.

Not a lot of space inside
Looks very good as a car key ,with VW logo on the front .You need to watch the video to see how to open this up to reveal a very small compartment, which to be fair you are not going to get a lot in there anyway, as car key remotes are quite small anyway.I managed to fit a £5 pound note in on its own, if you are careful in folding the note a certain way to get it in, which would be more useful in an emergency.Also managed a £ 10 pound note on its ownI could only get one £ 1 pound coin in,3 x 20 pence pieces or 20 p in 5 pence pieces,you may get tablets in there depending on size .As for jewellery , well that depends on the size , I suppose, but you should get an Idea of what could be fitted in from what I have said in this.The flip key is like any other, and works well.Not sure , but you might be able to get it cut ,say to fit your door lock only, It would make it look even more realistic if it was examined closely, and practical for emergency to open the door only, It won`t work in the ignition as it will not have the electronic parts to start the car.The two half’s of the compartment have a sharp edge to them ,but a small needle file sorted that .The parts fit together with a firm click to make the key look like the real thing,I gave 4 stars only because it is very small, but I knew that, before I ordered

Not easy to open
It’s ok for what it costs, but it’s really hard to open it once you close it. As in the video instructions, one meeds to pull it vertically, almost like you want to break it, and it’s quite cumbersome to do.

Couldn’t open it without instructions!
On arrival I was pleased with how decent this is is – looks like a proper VW key and even has a button to pop the blade out. The only give away for me is that the blade isn’t cut so is just a flat piece of metal which might arouse suspicion.I thought I’d give myself the challenge of opening it without reading the instructions. Even knowing that it was a stash key and it could be opened I couldn’t get it open. With the instructions I opened it within seconds so I think it’s pretty secure if it ever gets inspected – although if you hang it on your car keys it’s unlikely to get looked at twice.Inside space is limited which is as expected due to the fact it’s a key and needs to keep the key dimensions to look real. As such only a small amount of things can be stored in here.Coool stash key – recommended!
