Impressed!
Great Gimbal. Was really impressed with how well it works and how easy it is to use. Secure hold on your phone. Well made and comfortable to hold. Great stabilisation and perfect to take on trips. It’s well made and a good size. Definitely up there with those more expensive brands.

Well made gimbal (with step-by-step video tutorials)
I hadnât heard of this brand and wasnât expecting the gimbal to be as good as it is. The build quality is fantastic, on a par with the Osmo equivalent (which I briefly used in the past) and feels substantial and durable, not at all cheap and plasticky.Still getting to grips with the functionality; itâs definitely a steep learning curve (as with all gimbals) and it will feel like it has a mind of its own in the beginning! I think theyâve made it as easy as possible to learn though: you need to download the AOCHUAN app, register and theyâve got mini videos there that take you through all the setup (including how to actually open up the contraption) and how to use the buttons and features.I think the tracking is accurate (you can track face, body, specific objects etc) and so far, Iâve found the stabilisation and focusing to be smooth, accurate and pretty seamless. I think itâs a very good quality product, well made and intuitively designed with the functionality. Well worth the investment.

functional and effective
Aochuan have done it again with this one. The shutter button on this is what I was missing on their previous model which I also reviewed earlier. Otherwise not a huge step up from that model but the shutter button does make it a lot easier to take shots on the fly with one hand.

Fantastic tech
My youngest is of the generation where gear like this is a hard requirement whenever she is on holiday or filming one of her convention tour videos for online. Thankfully I managed to have a brief go on it too in order to form my own opinions too. In our shared perspective though, this is unlike anything either of us has ever used before. I had expected something more like a standard phone holder that maybe helped to eliminate some of the sway or shaking that oyu normally see. Turned out this is far more like something a professional photographer or videographer would use. It’s completely stable in your hand, even when walking around, and it fits into you hand like a glove. My daughter took it with her to a convention she went to and said it was far easier and more comfortable to use then anything she has ever experienced. Not only that, but it’s also so lightweight that it didn’t tire her arm out at all through the day and is so sturdy that she sys that she did not have to worry if it got dropped or bumped out of her hand accidentally.Really her only complaint was that she needed to download an app in order to make full use of the stick’s thumb screen, and she also needed to take her phone out of its case in order to fit it correctly into the grip. Other that that though it’s five stars across the board for this thing. Wonderfull little gadget!

Great
I am really impressed with this gimbal. The build quality is excellent, right up there with the best similar devices I’ve used previously. It folds to a compact size, making it very portable. The stabilisation is very smooth, allowing you to create a nice cinematic effect. The controls are reasonably intuitive, the indicator LED’s are especially useful for keeping you informed as to which mode the gimbal is in. The app is straightforward too.I’m really loving the attention to detail, with genuinely useful features being added to this device. Battery life so far seems decent too.Overall I love this product and find it very easy to recommend

Powerful, well-made phone gimbal with excellent app and features
I have used many professional video accessories including gimbals. This Aochuan phone stabiliser is well-made, has useful functions and is good value for money.Overall, this is an excellent 3-axis smartphone stabiliser. My only slight criticism is that the stabiliser’s phone cradle is not suitable for phones with cases or protective shells attached. I have an iPhone 15 Pro and need to remove my slim Otterbox case before using the gimbal. That said, the cradle jaws do grip the unprotected phone very tightly, so it is unlikely to fall out during ‘normal’ use.The entire unit is sturdy and well-made without being too heavy, which is really important for these things as they are held in one hand and require smooth, natural movements for best results. Its handy desk tripod can be attached to the base via a standard 1/4-20 thread, or detached to make the stabiliser even smaller and lighter. The gimbal uses small, quiet, powerful brushless motors that seem to handle the phone’s weight quite comfortably. It has a range of tracking modes for various uses – it’s best to consult the brief instruction leaflet and then spend some time experimenting in order to learn the best uses for each mode. As with any stabiliser, don’t be too hasty to judge the results as good stabilised shots require some practice. That said, this gimbal generally does a fantastic job of stabilising most footage. It’s worth downloading the free Aochuan app used to control advanced features such as zoom and focus tracking, which when using the app, can be controlled using the digital thumb wheel on the side. This requires the gimbal to be paired with your phone via Bluetooth. The app is also a decent standalone camera app in its own right, providing more technical exposure information than the standard Apple camera app.I’m very happy with this product and although a little cautious about its need to use the phone unprotected, I look forward to having some fun with it.

This is a valuable tool if you want to get more serious with your phone photography and obtain more professional results. This 3-axis gimbal does an excellent job at stabilizing your footage and offers a variety of different modes depending on the type of video you are trying to capture. You can use the gimbal right out of the box but will need to pair it to your phone with Bluetooth so that the shutter button, etc., on the gimbal functions. That being said, there is also an Aochuan app to download which unlocks the full feature set of the gimbal with all of its controls and modes. This app adds a significant amount of functionality from many advanced photography settings, zoom and focus controls, various effects, and several different auto-tracking modes and gesture controls. There are quite a few controls on this gimbal which arenât very intuitive and have a bit of a learning curve. Most of the buttons have multiple features linked to them depending on if you double-tap, triple-tap, hold, etc. It would definitely be beneficial to spend a few minutes with the manual ahead of time or watch the tutorial videos inside the app to familiarize yourself with it before using. The gimbal includes a screw-on tripod which is very handy in combination with the tracking/gesture controls and can also be folded and used as an extended handle. In addition, the gimbal has a telescopic rod which can extend the phone up to 8â further away from the handle which adds versatility for selfie-type shots or to reach higher, etc.Itâs a great device that works very well and I donât have any major criticisms with it, but there are a couple of nitpicks. When unboxing the gimbal, the first thing that I noticed was a very strong chemical/plastic scent to it that is a bit off-putting. Iâm hoping this will dissipate with time, but for now, it does have an unpleasant odor to it which is rather odd.The marketing page promotes in several areas that it has an âOLEDâ screen, which seems misleading. The display does not have pixels like an LED or OLED display. The display area has symbols that are baked in and locked to specific locations, which it just lights up when neededâ¦kind of like an old-school LCD display but with color. Thereâs nothing wrong with that as it delivers the info it needs to, but I think the marketing is misleading and trying to imply it is a more advanced display than what it really is.This is also reflected by the battery meter on the display. The battery symbol is a battery with 4 bars in it. You would expect the bars to go down one by one as you use it, but it isnât precise like that, and the display isnât capable of showing that. The battery icon doesnât change and simply goes from green to red when the battery gets low, and thatâs it.The claw that grips the phone could be improved a bit. I have a fairly slim case on mine, and you have to make sure that the clawsâ tips are securely wrapped around the edges as they are just plastic and can at times slip a little bit. I havenât had any issues with the phone falling out, but the grip doesnât feel quite as secure as other various phone holders/clamps that Iâve used.Overall, this is a well-performing gimbal with a lot of functionality aside from just stabilized video.
