The M.2 SSD heatsink is for Desktop PCs, not for PS5/PS5 Slim/Laptops. 22x70x10mm aluminum body, it can work with all 2280 M.2 SSDs.
5- 30°C Cooling Effect: If the NVMe SSD rises to 50 degrees, try to use a heat sink. The higher the temperature, the better the results.
The highest temperature of SSD is the main control chip. The heatsink is a cost-effective passive cooling method that effectively reduces the temperature of the main control chip to maintain it in good operating performance, and also extends the life of the M.2 NVMe SSD.
Installation Kits: 2 x metal clasps + 2 x rubber bands. Flexible mounting method: You can use only metal clasps, or only rubber bands, or both.
The thermal pad is placed between M.2 SSD and the heatsink body and conducts heat from M.2 SSD to the heatsink body. It has a low viscosity, thermal conductivity, insulation, and won’t harm SSDs
Customers say
Customers find the heat sink effectively reduces M.2 SSD temperatures and fits well in various devices, including PS5. The product is easy to install, works well, and offers good value for money. They appreciate its build quality and appearance, with one customer noting its traditional finned design provides a large surface area. The metal clips receive mixed feedback, with several customers reporting they were not included.

Excellent functionality and value for money
I have used five of these heat sinks on multiple NVMe drives now, most recently a couple of Gen 4 drives – the Samsung 980 Pro and the WD SN850 – which runs hot, but all of them have been kept cool, and Iâve never seen any of them rise to above the low 50s, even under load.In terms of basic heat sink fundamentals they seem to tick the boxes as far as I can tell. They make good contact through the supplied thermal pad, their traditional finned design provides a large surface area, and their material seems to be thermally conductive enough to do itâs job well.Like any heat sink, in order to work effectively there must be airflow across it to carry the heat away. This shouldnât be an issue in a modern well ventilated case, and anyone concerned about the performance of their drives and the effectiveness of their thermals should already have a good handle on this.Price wise, these are incredibly cheap for what they are. Theyâre well made, look nice, work well, and come with all the accessories you need for a successful installation. The cleaning wipes are a nice touch, as is the choice of two mounting options. I havenât yet used the metal clips as I prefer to use the silicone bands to hold the heat sink onto the drive.Overall I couldnât ask for more of a heat sink. I know there are more elaborate âbeautifulâ designs, and some that wrap around the rear, which may be necessary in some circumstances but I havenât personally required that as of yet. My main concern is the temperature of the controller and these manage that perfectly.

Works great with QNAP TBS-H574T!
I have now bought 8 of these low profile (3mm) nvme ssd coolers and they all work exactly as expected!Inside the QNAP, I can run 5 WD SN700s under 10gbe large file transfers or whilst editing multiple streams of 4K footage and the drives stay below thermal threshold. They will idle around 30-40c and max out in the mid 60c.Installation was very easy, though the metal clip feels a little rough on the back side of the SSDs. If your drive has chips on both sides of the SSD, I recommend only using the included rubber bands – in fact, thatâs what I have used in all of my builds that require a low profile cooler.I have also made a portable home lab using a dual NVME drive adapter and a raspberry pi 5. Same story as above, the drives dropped 15c whilst idle going from 45-47c down to 30-33c and they no longer thermally throttle when under load and max out around 65c whereas my SN700 would hit between 75-80c before. There are obviously other coolers that can offer more performance for even hotter drives that can hit transfer speeds over 7gbps, but for my requirements and for what I feel the intended use case of these low profile coolers are, they have been perfect!

Good but nothing crazy
I’ve been using these GLOTRENDS M.2 heatsinks in my server to cool down my M.2 SSDs, and I’d say they’re a solid choice.Firstly, they’re really cheap – like, ridiculously cheap. But for what you pay, they get the job done. The temps on my M.2s have dropped by around 5-7 degrees Celsius, which might not seem like a lot, but it’s definitely noticeable when you’re running resource-intensive applications. The heatsinks themselves are pretty standard fare – they’re made of some kind of metal alloy that seems to be decent at dissipating heat. The installation process is easy enough, and the band provided fit snugly onto my M.2s without any issues. My only criticism would be that the temps don’t drop by a significant margin – I mean, these heatsinks aren’t going to turn your system into a liquid nitrogen-cooled behemoth or anything like that. But for the price, you’re getting a decent performance bump and some peace of mind knowing that your M.2s are running at a slightly cooler temperature.Overall, I’d say GLOTRENDS M.2 heatsinks are a good choice if you’re looking to upgrade your cooling system without breaking the bank. Just don’t expect any earth-shattering results – they’ll do their job, but it’s not like magic or anything.

Effective on a Samsung 970 EVO Plus on an overclocked system and, an external SSD
Windows 10 Home, programs and, email are on separate partitions of a Samsung 970 EVO Plus. Temperature has not really been a problem despite being in a warm upstairs room in my everyday aircooled system at 25% overclock. However, I will be running a clean install later this year and that needs my boot and program partitions on a Samsung 970 EVO Plus to run as smoothly as possible, so time to consider cooling.I have the 970 EVO Plus installed on an ASUS MAXIMUS VIII Ranger, that isn’t in the best airflow position despite three 120mm case fans. The Fractal case would allow a 120mm side mounted fan to cool it, but I have that blocked off as I like really quiet kit. The 10mm high heatsink seemed a good cheap solution. I fixed the heatsink with the silicone bands as the metal clips had the possibility of being too close to the motherboard components, I left the Samsung sticker on the memory in case I have a future warranty claim. On completion I tested the heatsink in a room that was around 25 deg C, and left the case fans on the usual silent mode. I ran the Samsung Magician Performance Benchmark on the 970 EVO PLus and, at completion it was 54 deg C. I’m happy with that.Update October 2020.I’ve also fitted one of these to a Sabrent external 1Tb SSD, that runs hot when storing Acronis system images and, it works very well.

My NVMe was running around 57 degrees Celcius regularly, and it was a bit concerning to see my normal HDDs running far cooler at <47 degrees Celcius max.I chose this heat sink because it had a large surface area and cooling fins, which is unlike most of the other flat sinks I see for sale. The price is fantastic and it's lowered my NVMe temperature by about 10 degrees. so happy I went to the effort of installing this!

Attached the heatsink to my Roku Stick after it started overheating with out new Samsung TV. It never overheated with our other TV, but the new Samsung OLED seems to drive the Roku hotter. Since updating the TVs software and the Roku’s software didn’t fix the issue; I had to resort to plan-B. Adding this heatsink was relatively easy, even though the Roku is not flat. Enough of the heatsink made contact to bring temps down from 116C to 101C. Not as low as I’d hoped for, but the annoying message about my Roku overheating is gone. I’ll probably buy another one to attach to the other side of the Roku to see if it can bring it down further.
