Matter Simple Setup (MSS) Feature: Bid farewell to intricate pairing. With MSS, simply plug in, instruct your Amazon Echo to locate the device, and Alexa will promptly scan and finalise the pairing. Note: MSS is only available when your purchase account corresponds with your Echo account. If not, you can pair using the traditional Matter method.
Energy Monitoring: Meross Matter smart plug can monitor energy consumption. It houses an internal power meter, and the Meross app provides real-time updates on the energy usage of your devices, as well as historical data. Perfect for operating my garden fountain
Setting up the Meross WiFi plug was a breeze, though the instructions could be a bit clearer for first-time users. It works perfectly for controlling my outdoor water fountain, saving me the hassle of turning it on and off manually. The app integration is seamless, and the reliability has been impressive. A bit too big for power strips
Great for wall sockets where there is a decent amount of space, quick and easy to set up in the iOS Home app, however theyâre far too large for use on a power strip which has sockets packed much closer together.

I purchased two boxes of four for use around my home via Alexa,TL;DR, I gave up after wasting a lot of time on these Meross plugs and ordered the more expensive Amazon branded plugs which work flawlessly and are very quick to set up.Trying to set the Meross plugs up is supremely annoying and time consuming. First you have to install the Meross app as they can’t be directly imported by Alexa. Then I get prompted to add them to Apple Home kit. This worked and I could control them from Apple Home (although I didn’t want to). Tried to link the Meross account to Alexa which worked but couldn’t see the devices. Rebooted two of them and they then sat flashing the green light which means connecting to wifi. Never connected even after an hour.I reset them and tried the manual process, one at a time, with only one switched on each time & using the Meross app. It coudn’t see them even though I followed the instructions exactly so I went back through the home kit method. This time they only partially added (appearing in home kit but not the Meross app) rebooted themselves and got stuck on the adding to wifi stage again.I had a look online and the help available is patchy but I found users reporting similar issues with them getting stuck trying to connect to wifi.Life is too short for this kind of annoyance. After contemplating throwing them in the recycling, I instead returned them to Amazon for a refund.

Meross MSS310. Iâve had two of the slightly older versions of this âsmart plugâ/energy monitor which worked fine. My experience with this one was not great. I was unable to set up the smart plug as it appeared that there was a problem with its blutooth transmitting. Regardless, if you donât already have a Google home/alexa/smart-things network hub it would leave you with just their Meross app. This app has far less functionality, wonât allow use on multiple devices (so family members cannot view what they use) and it didnât work anyway. Waste of 2 hours.
