Impossible to set up, and not compatible with any of my equipment … Complete waste of money.

Since this is universal it worked great on one TV but for some reason it didn’t work very well on different one. Check and make sure your model is on the list before buying.

Works great but wish they had something to protect the battery lid from breaking

UPDATE: The Evolution cable box is RF, not IR. The Philips remote is IR only. I had my cable provider switch the Evolution for a Motorola, and all works properly with the single remote. This could have been the perfect remote. I was able to program my Philips Roku TV, Sony HDMI-connected sound system, and older Magnavox VCR and Sanyo DVD players. But the two codes provided for Evolution cable boxes did not work. Three additional codes that I found searching online also didn’t work. The whole idea was to get rid of all my remotes. If Philips people are reading, do you have codes for the Evolution DMS2004? Code search doesn’t work because the power on/off is not an option on the DMS2004.

I am very disappointed with this remote – essentially it is not user friendly and it is counter-intuitive. The channel and volume buttons are placed backwards in my opinion – at least from every other remote that I have ever had before. Look at the pictures for what I’m refering to – but the channel buttons are “left” and “right” buttons, and the volume buttons are “up” and “down” buttons. To me, it makes WAY more sense for the channels buttons to be up and down, and the volume to be left and right – especially when typical volume indicators on the TV screen show a bar which increases from left to right as the volume is adjusted. Also, numerically, channels are visualized in one’s mind as from low to high – for examples, channels 2, 4, 8, & 16. Other than that, the remote was very easy to link to my Sony TV. But after using this for about a month, I’m so tired of changing the channel when I intend to change the volume (and vice versa) that I’m ordering a different remote. Maybe I can get $2 for this paperweight on eBay!?!?
