Fun update on the classic, but a bit bulky
This is a fun twist on the old-school Battleship. The electronic element is nice: no more cheating like we used to do as kids by moving ships mid-game! The presets make setup quicker, which is a bonus, because entering all the positions manually is a bit time consuming.That said, itâs quite big and bulky, even when folded. We have a small house, so storage is tight, and Iâd definitely prefer something more compact. Also, the dial system for entering coordinates is a strange choice. Itâs a bit stiff, slows things down, and if you press too hard, the whole board wobbles as it’s sort of on a bridge on hinges (see my video for what I mean).The sound effects are fun, and thereâs a volume button (thankfully!), but no mute option. There seem to be three volume levels. It takes three batteries, which were not included.All in all, fun to play, and certainly nostalgic, but a few design tweaks wouldâve made it even better.
