Perfect for road trips. Plays without any issues

So when you first plug this in, it presents you with a menu where you an choose car play or HDMI.I was thrilled by this because my car trim has built in nav and for whatever reason, having that built in some how triggered something in the contract with Apple to not allow wireless carplay, despite the fetaure being available on lower models.I’ve been using a little dongle that did the wireless bit for me and I was excited to have this replace that so I immediately synced it up. Only problem is, wireless carplay absolutely sucks with this. All of the audio plays like its slow motion (about half speed) and at the loud points, there’s static. Depite hours of screwing with things, I can’t find any way to fix this.Having this problem initially, I was hesitant about how it would work on the HDMI side. Plugging in a fire stick, it does work pretty well, though. i had to go in and adjust the audio sync because the audio and video are initially a little out of wack but the firestick has a feature to adjust for this and that fixed the problem.But having said all of that, there was one MAJOR problem with setup and that’s that because I had set this up for carplay, initially, my phone was connecting that way every time I tried to use the HDMI and while that’s not a problem in terms of this device handling the HDMI, it does tie up my phone’s connections so that it won’t work as hotspot which you of course need for streaming on the go.It took me quite a while to figure out that’s what was causing the problem but after going into my phone and deleting the carplay connection, the HDMI was finally able to stream pulling data from my phone.This all ended up being a lot of work and a lot of hassle but I did finally get there with the main advertised feature.It was a lot of hassle though and I’m not sure how many people are going to spend that much time trying to get it working before just sending it back…. and of course, the wireless carplay feature is awful so when using that, I still have to keep the other device on hand to swap out.

TThis device looks and performs very similar to another brand I tried. The included manual was easy to read and understand and the instructions and installation were quite easy. The contents include a USB-A to USB-C adapter, but no extra cables or attachments are included except for the attached USB-A cable that is needed to attach the device to your stereo/ screen device. The Eunavi Car TV Mate loaded quickly, and the home screen allows you to choose CarPlay or HDMI. Whatever your choice it is extremely easy to return to the main screen and choose another option. I attached my Firestick 4K Max to the device and it loaded without issue. There was some audio delay and sync issues bi it improved after I updated the software as detailed in the manual. It is not perfect, but it does allow you to enjoy contents via HDMI.

I was initially skeptical, but this little device has completely transformed my car’s entertainment system. The Eunavi Car TV Mate is incredibly easy to set up – it’s truly plug and play. I connected my Fire TV Stick and was streaming movies and shows in no time.The picture quality is surprisingly good, even on my car’s OEM screen. It’s a great way to keep passengers entertained on long road trips. The device is also very stable and doesn’t interfere with my car’s other functions.If you’re looking to upgrade your car’s entertainment system without breaking the bank, I highly recommend the Eunavi Car TV Mate. It’s a fantastic product that delivers on its promises.

I was not able to get this to connect on a 2019 Subaru Impreza. First I tried it connected to the cars USB, on the head unit it only shows Car Play actice and Android Auto greyed, out even though I’m using a Samsung Galaxy Note S24 Ultra, all i see on the phone is waiting for Android Auto. I then brought it inside to check for an update and all goes well until the second part in the photo, it should allow me to connect back to Auto-xxxx but once I click switch to P2P, the wireless name is changed to Direct-xx and the password no longer works. Big dead end.
