Set your camera to manual
Switch your camera to Manual (“M”) or Aperture Priority (“A”). Enable “Release shutter without lens” in the menu, if required. Activate Manual Focus Assist and set your lens to Manual Focus as needed.
Attach the adapter to the lens
Align the dot on your lens with the dot on the adapter. Rotate the lens until it securely locks in place. If your adapter has a silver ring at the base of the lens, rotate it until it locks securely.
Attach the adapter to the camera body
Attach the adapter to the camera like a lens, aligning the dots if present. Rotate until it locks (the Urth logo will be centered at the top). Hold both the lens and adapter for better grip.
Remove the adapter
Press the lens release button and rotate the adapter and lens to remove them. Next, press the adapter’s release button (if present) and rotate, or just rotate to remove the adapter from the lens.

Typical Urth / Gobe high quality product. Extension ring is firm yet smooth and easy to adjust for accurate and quick focussing.Using this adapter also helps to increase the depth of focus and bokeh control which can contribute to better imaging and presentation as often DoF can be too razor thin.I don’t what I’d do without it now!

Brilliant for attaching Sony A mount lenses to a Sony E mount camera
This is quite good for attaching Full Frame A mount lenses to Sony E Mount cameras.The only issue is that the electronics cannot connect from the lens to the camera with this mount, so the lens becomes a manual lens – which can be annoying for lenses with electronic focus rings. Apart from that, it is quite cheap and fits the part, so can’t complain at all.

Not compatible with latest gen E-mount cameras despite website/product page saying otherwise
I emailed Urth to ask why auto magnifier wasn’t working with EF lenses, and they said that the latest E-mount cameras aren’t supported, including my A7R V, which is strange because on their website and this product page they state “any Sony E mount camera” is supported. The A7R V has been available for almost three years so is hardly a new product. I recommended they update their website and the listing over a week ago and they haven’t bothered. I bought a dumb adapter from them instead, thinking I’d use manual focus only, and the adapter was so tight fitting that I thought I’d damage my camera mount. Not great.

Well made adapter
Tested right after delivery with my Canon lenses. All works well and as described. Autofocus works fast and only for photography. For videography manual autofocus is needed, but that was clear from the beginning. Build quality looks very good. It has a port for future updates too. Packaging is well made. I can only recommend.

Loose fit on A6000
Although the adapter looks fine and well constructed, I found the unit to be loose on mounting to the A6000. The adapter was returned and a replacement ordered.Unfortunately the second unit was received in an unsealed box and when tested on the camera it was also loose. Itâs a pity but I canât recommend this item.

I have bought SO MUCH adapters in the past.a. One of them got so stuck on one of my lens that I got to saw it off.b. One of them only worked on my Canon 6D.c. The two last ones I thought worked on my Sony FS7, but only between F8 and F22 because of the length between the focus point of the camera and the edge of the adapter (some older lenses were made for a particular length between those two points).NOW.. this.. I’m gonna buy another one (at least) because I can finally use my Canon FD 55mm 1.2 and my Canon FD 85mm 1.2 on my Sony Fs7, even at F1.2 (but I am probably gonna use them at F2 and over because even if the focus seems good there seems to have lights aberations under it, which I don’t mind that much at this point. Those lenses are 40-50 years old and being able to buy quality glasses for 500-1000$ for video use is a bargain).If I was not clear, this is definitively a must buy (at least for the FD to Sony E).They do not use AF, obviously, and are not fast to load onto the camera because of the FD aperture mechanism, BUT I highly recommend you spend the extra cash to get one per old lense you are planning on using it with. You will not regret it, in fact, you might be super excited by the fact that you have more tools in your arsenal.Film, have fun doing it. This product is solid and rocks!*** UPDATE ***I’ve already bought 2x FD/E-Mount and a M42/E, they are fantastic, currently about to purchase another one for a Contax lense. Buy it (and Urth, don’t hesitate to contact me if you think I could be a good brand ambassador, because I now vouch for you, don’t change the quality in you products!).
