Expensive, but worth it.
Expensive, but do the job perfectly. I now charge the two cameras via a permanent usb connection, so donât need these now. Keeping to use the solar panels with some rechargeable lights. The usb-c needs to be pushed fully home, as does the barrel plug, this ensures a good connection and makes sure itâs weatherproof.

Used for solar panel for Ring spotlight cam
I had the first gen ring spotlight cam with solar panel and I upgraded to the newer cam, of course I didnât known couldnât use the solar panel with the new camera so instead of buying a new solar panel, I got this adapter and itâs been working fine charging up the new camera. Saves £50!!

Tech info if used for Spotlight Cam Plus
I can confirm this cable is ‘electrically’ correct for Spotlight Cam Plus. However, established by lab testing, the camera requires an absolute minimum of 4.7V before starting to show diminished charging current, and a minimum of 5.2V for the maximum (regulated) charging current of 1A.Given the reported problems not working with Gen.1 solar panels, and reduced charging current at lower voltage, the charging regulator is evidently linear or PWM. Unnlike MPPT (for example), is unable to leverage charging current with a reduced PV voltage, clearly explaining why smaller Gen.1 Ring solar panels won’t usually work.As I understand that Gen.2 Ring solar panels are already supplied with sealing USB-C connectors, it would appear that these cables would only offer significant benefit if powering from an alternative DC supply with compatble (small) barrel jack. I read from a US thread that the Gen.2 PV spec is 6V, though I don’t have the specs to confirm this myself.I hope this helps.

An easy secure connection and the camera recognizes the solar panel. I tried a cheaper version but camera couldn’t recognize it. This seems to have Ring authorization

Works perfectly, fits snugly.

The barrel input does not fit my barrel output. Needed to check the diameter of the barrel before purchasing.

Got it and it worked like it should, should have ordered it sooner!
