GENBOLT 9X PTZ
This review is for the GENBOLT 9X PTZ purchased from GENBOLT direct.I bought this camera for the purpose of capturing trivial matters that occur in my neighbourhood although it would also help with capturing incompetent drivers who cannot negotiate the kerb and my lawn should damage occur. I wasn’t keen on spending too much and this being the upper limit of my budget I decided to take a gamble based on the brag of a ‘Sony cmos sensor’ also. This review is based on the very short time of just over a week and I will add further input when time allows. It is written from a personal perspective and use.Initial impressions when first unboxing the camera – very well presented and constructed. I followed the instructions included. The camera was up and running with ease. You first connect to your modem via network cable supplied. Download the app from google play to your phone or via QR code. Open the app and add camera. After you have connected to the camera you can then input your WiFi code from the settings and you will then be connected wirelessly. This was all done quite easily with the supplied instructions.Pan and tilt function is adequate and smooth although latency effects required position. It would be nice to have the facility of preset positions although I have yet to see whether this facility does exist as the mobile app is minimal but adequate.The video files are saved in a .254 or .255 format. A 17mb file size will cover 10 minutes of footage which I think is amazing considering the quality. The camera will capture a number plate of a parked car from approximately 30mtrs during the day (without the use of the zoom facility). I have not done much testing with night vision or moving vehicles but will update. If you need to access video footage should an incident be caught on camera you have to go to the file storage, select the file then download. The file will then be converted to mp4 – a commonly used formatand played by most operating systems and apps. As a 10 minute file is less than the email limit of most free email service providers (20mb usually) this function is extremely user friendly with no need to edit videos. The aforementioned was all done with ease using my android phone (app was downloaded by scanning the QR code on the side of the box via Google play store). You also have the facility to use your pc web browser to access the camera by simply inserting the ip address of the camera into the web address bar. You will be asked for the admin username and password to access this facility so be sure to familiarise yourself with such or you can change it using the camera app on your phone.The tailing lead consists of a rj45 connector, reset button, power input and a audio output phono connector. A little speaker is also supplied which connects to this audio output. I haven’t tried to insert it directly into a line level of an audio amplifier but I would verify the voltage before doing so. I’m presuming this sends an audible motion sensed warning should it be selected on the app.The microphone on the camera seems substantial and the pick up is certainly functional, a thorough test is called for and I will update accordingly.Thankfully this camera is not associated with cloud storage services that hold you to ransom by constantly bothering you to purchase this service and preventing access to your recorded footage.Initial impressions are very good, i am pleased with this camera and i certainly think it commensurate with price.

Very good camera i have old one for 3 years and i change many but this is ok only one problem old one much better than new one much more clear

The camera is PTZ with wifi and POE wired connections available.It has a port for an external microphone and comes with a power supply. Image quality is excellent and the image above (taken at 10:00pm where there is a light on around the corner but very low light) is in colour!All my other cameras under the same conditions will be in B&W! The only negative I have found is the star washer under the antenna connection has started to rust. I will replace it with a 316 stainless one to correct this.This camera has been in operation for around a month now and runs wirelessly to my recording system flawlessly. There is occasionally a bit of lag, but as the wifi path in it’s location is not the best, the performance is better than expected. Very happy with the quality and resolution and performance.
