Decent quality branded cable that works perfectly well
Nothing wrong with this cable, it does exactly what you expect it to do. Namely take a single phono output and split it to two phono inputs. Although the plugs are colour-coded red and black, naturally you’re only splitting a mono output so you aren’t going to get anything different on either channel. It takes a single mono output and delivers it to two mono inputs with no noticeable distortion or reduction in volume. For just under a tenner, it’s a decent quality branded cable that works perfectly well.

    Decent For The Price
Bearing in mind that these are around £7.20 for a 1.8m cable, you can’t really expect too much, and that’s pretty what this is… something relatively cheap and functional. The cable itself is quite thin and rubber-coated, which also makes it quite flexible. It’s definitely thinner than my other coax cables I’m currently using for my subwoofer. The connectors themselves are functional; sure they are cheapish, but they’re going to be behind the scenes, and again, this is budget priced.Overall, I think for the price it’s mostly fair… if you want better, you’re going to have to pay more.

    Ever-useful RCA Y adaptor
A very decent, affordable male – male RCA Y adaptor. While it might seem an esoteric piece of kit, it’s highly likely that at some point, if you’re altering home audio or home theatre kit, you’ll find a need for just such an item (I have many times in the past) so even if you don’t require one now, it’s a useful item to have on-stock -especially since at £8,.99 [April ’25] it costs very little.Supplied in a simple flat cardboard box, for the minimal asking price it’s a nicely enough made item: decently molded low-mass, plated plugs, a reasonably flexible and sufficiently long lead / leads for most requirements, with what seems to be an effective outer shield / nominal return. It’s relatively unobtrusive too, rather than being of python-proportions. Well worth the money.

Cable matters RCA splitter cable: Fair quality, budget cable
The Cable Matters RCA splitter cable is designed to distribute an audio signal to two separate devices. They’ve used gold-plated contacts on the plugs, which are meant to improve conductivity, despite copper and silver being even better conductors than gold! The cable itself has copper braided shielding inside, which they say helps to reduce interference. Also, they’ve used oxygen-free copper conductors for the internal wiring, which is supposed to be better for sound quality. Looking at it, I’d guess the wire gauge is somewhere between 28 AWG to 22 AWG internally, and not very thick compared to what I’m used to.Some subwoofers, particularly older models or those designed for stereo setups, have left and right RCA inputs and in these cases, a Y-splitter cable would be used to connect the single subwoofer output from the AV receiver to both inputs on the subwoofer. If you have this setup, then this cable might be ideal for you!Having tested the cable, I found it to be adequate for sound reproduction over such a short distance. It’s about 6 feet long, giving you some flexibility in your setup. While it does have a budget look and feel to it, when testing the cable, it worked just fine, sound was clear, no distortion. It’s a decent enough budget cable made with fair quality materials.⭐ Not recommended⭐⭐ Consider other options before this one⭐⭐⭐ A fair quality RCA Y-Splitter cable⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great product, keep high on your list⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An outstanding product, and one of my top choices

I purchased this splitter cable to experiment with the “Out-of-Phase Stereo” effect, sometimes called the “OOPS” effect. (Yeah, I know I still need something to reverse the phase of one of the channels, I’m working on that!) I think this cable will serve my purposes well, since it’s well-constructed, and the connectors are of good quality.I tested it first with an ohm meter to make sure it’s been wired correctly, and it has been. Then I tried it out with an audio source, first to combine the left and right channels into a single channel, and that worked fine. Then I used it to take a single channel of a stereo source and split it into the left and right inputs of the amplifier. That worked fine as well. The sound quality was just fine. It was indistinguishable from the cabling I’m already using on the system. So in other words, I used this cable not just as a “splitter”, as it’s called in the title, but as a “combiner” as well, and it works for both cases. Is it a good value for the money? Well, you can get shorter cables to do the same job for less money. (These are usually called “Y” cables.) But if you require a cable of this length for a particular application, then this cable would be a good value for the money.

Whether you’re connecting a TV, DVD/Blu-ray player, or AV receiver to a subwoofer or speaker setup, this cable ensures seamless signal transmission and reliable compatibility. The audio quality is excellent, with clear, distortion-free sound that enhances your overall listening experience. A reliable, high-performance addition to any setup.

I needed an RCA Y-adapter for my audio cable kit for those times when I need to adapt a mono source to a stereo input, and vice versa. I’ve used Cable Matters products before and felt secure ordering their splitter cable. The Cable Matters Splitter Cable came in a cardboard box. The wiring is two 1/8” cables molded together like lamp zip cord. The 6-ft long cable can be bent to a 3/8” radius. The connector shells are metal and the connectors are gold-plated. The left and right channels are identified by colored strain reliefs, though for a stereo-to-mono adapter cable, channels are moot. The connectors are a bit longer than average, so I’d recommend having at least 2.5 inches of clearance to plug them in.I tested the cable for noise by plugging it by itself into a line-input of my mixer and setting the gain at maximum. Unlike some of the lower quality cables I have reviewed recently, as I expected the Cable Matters cable was totally noise-free, even when held along a power cable. The connections were secure and free of static when moved.
