I’ve got an ‘old’ webcam I bought in 2016 for a job interview and I paid 70 for it – that’s how desperate I was to get the job. So this web cam in comparison is a fraction of the price, and I was very surprised how good the visual was, outstanding (5/5). Sadly, the microphone was I would say a 3/5 for sound quality. Visually this was remarkably better than my old one, but neither of my webcams were that great at sound. For me, for that interview if I could have paid 15 for this, I would have done! (For the comparison of this camera against my existing one, I used the same website, PC and did them within minutes of each other, and I do feel my internet was consistent.)

Sadly, a dud.
First plugged it into a USB port on the back of my PC, and Windows recognised it fine. After the “Wed Camera” (instead of “Web Camera,” I guess) was successfully added to the Device Manager, I opened Chrome and tried to test the cam in the browser. The page said there were no cameras. So, I opened Edge, and again there were no cameras.I checked my Device Manager and confirmed the drivers were up to date. I unplugged the camera from the back of the PC, but Windows did not make the disconnect sound. Device Manager now has “Wed Camera” in the hidden devices. Uninstalled the driver there so that I could re-install it, but now Windows doesn’t recognise the camera being plugged into any port.I find it interesting that, in their tiny little instruction guide, one of the “features” includes “Manual Focus.” There… aren’t any buttons or spinners on this? How does one manually focus a camera that has no focus elements on the outside? I guess I’ll never know.Oh wait, what’s this? The actual Amazon listing has “AutoFocus” as a feature?Wish I could give less than 1 star, and this often-dramatic sentiment is something I never say in a review.
