Absolutely brilliant compact A4 printer, with scanner and photocopier. Supplied with small starter ink packs. HP Instant Ink subscription gives you an upgraded 6 months free trial in you register for it within a week of receiving or setting up your printer. This gives you free ink to your door and enables you to work out what your typical printing needs are in a month to know which monthly subscription package is best for you after the trial ends, and then you keep getting genuine HP ink 50% cheaper than in store. Very easy to instal and use from the HP app on your computer, and works seamlessly from a phone app too, so long as each device is on the same WiFi network that you’ve set the printer to. It only works with WiFi. There is no cable. No problems printing anything. Couple of glitches in the first couple of days, with it saying printer was online but unavailable, when I then learned that if this happens you need to switch everything off and on again to reset it. Everything seems to be stable since then – no problems printing from laptop or phone, from any document/page/image/photo source. HP customer support is superb. Prompt callbacks, professional support will talk and walk you through what to do to help you with your query. Patient and friendly support agents willing to help dummies. Print quality is great. Works with ease. Total bargain. Fabulour price. Great service from Amazon, too. I’m so glad I chose HP, and love my printer/copier/scanner. It prints instantly, and is fast enough for my domestic needs. Colour prints look true to colour.

The little printer that could
Great little printer/scanner. Reasonably easy to set up. Much easier using the phone app, on windows it was a bit of a faff.Neat looking piece of kit and the included cartridges seem to be lasting ages. Can’t gripe about the noise, it’s not offensively loud, nor is it whisper quiet.Time will tell how long it lasts as understandably for the price, it’s fairly cheap feeling.

Set up awful
This was a nightmare to set up. The instructions were not clear . After connecting it to the WiFi , my phone then couldn’t find it . Two hours later after switching everything off and trying it again, it worked . Printer works fine and scanner is good . Once it’s working it’s very easy to use .

Simple and satisfying
My Canon Printer TS3151 which is a piece of trash developed an error within 18 months of having it and it would cost more to fix than what it’s worth. Having lost my patience with it I chucked it in the bin and looked for a new printer. I settled on this printer and so far, I’ve not been disappointed. Setup was so simple and took me 10 minutes. The 3 month ink trial is a bonus and you’re under no obligation to use Instalink going forward if you don’t want to. Ink cartridges without the Instaink trial are decent prices, around £20 whereas Canon are approx £35!Only complaint is Amazon said I’d get an additional 2 months free trial ontop of the 3 months Instalink already included, but the promo code doesn’t work and says ‘expired’ – Amazon has said this was the code supplied by HP and to report the issue to them, which is what I’ll do.

Doesn’t print the whole of an A4 document
In general the printer is good but I have recently noticed that when I try to copy an A4 page it cuts off about a cm, This is the same if I print an A4 page, the whole of the page does not come out. If I scan a document it is fine but not if I print or copy – why is this ?

Absolute rubbish. First the power cable is slightly too small to remain securely in the port — I looked online and found that it’s a common problem. Official HP advice is to either buy a new cable or tape it securely in place!Second, all lights flashed as soon as I plugged it in to indicate a serious error. I followed the HP troubleshooting advice up to and including a factory reset, but no joy. The thing is nothing more than an expensive doorstop.I’d heard that HP quality had seriously dropped in recent years, but I didn’t really get it until now.
