USB-A male needs so much force it would damage your port , seller patronising
me,I have bought 3 of these off you and 2 are so tight they would break the port as would need too much forcing, I was your first long positive review for your 2.5 SSD caddy and have been happy with them, but these USB-A to SATA have been machined inconsistently and I cannot use 2 of them regardsseller replyHi,Thank you for sharing the photos. I’ve reviewed them closely, and it looks like the laptop’s USB port might be slightly skewed on the left side—if I’m seeing it correctly. I don’t believe the issue is with the SATA adapter. To confirm, you could try connecting the adapter to a different USB port or another device. Since it’s a standard port, the size should be the same across devices. Also, gently inserting the adapter with a bit of pressure shouldn’t cause any damage, as the laptop port is reinforced with a metal frame. We’re always here if you need further assistance!Kind regardmeI get the same result with several computers , have tried 20 plus USB-A ports you product is machined too big, just 1 of the 3, I purchased from you fits perfectly 2 are completley useless and would cause damage if ,I am normaly pleased with your products having left the best review for another product, I cannot safely use 2 of these regardssellerHi,Thank you for your reply. It is really strange since all of them must have the same size. We sell many of them daily without a problem. Please let me know how I can help you?Kind regardsmeI wish to return faulty 2 products for a refund please regardssellerHi,As I said, I do not think they are faulty. However, your satisfaction is our highest priority.Kind regardsit seems to me the seller can’t be bothered just read above, keep away from this seller

  7. Pseudonym

    As described, and described competently
This adaptor is seemingly similar to many other chinese ones, but described competently. In particular, the description mentions support of blkdiscard and fstrim operations, which I tested OK; the first one securely clears the whole drive, and the second cleans up the unused blocks of the filesystem. The speed is consistent with USB 3.0, which is about 500MB/s, although an SSD usually starts with this value, and then slows down as more data are written. This speed is only slightly below of the fastest 6Gbit/s SATA. The quality is fine, although nothing particularly amazing. Tested with Debian Linux.

    It works
Seems to work fine. Minor problem, LED indicators are only on one face which on my drives happens to be facing downwards.Assembly and quality seems fine.Note: stress, this is only for 2.5″ drives. It does NOT support a 12Volt supply needed by 3.5″ drives. The supplier makes this clear on the presentation.Should work fine with a computer USB 3 port (blue insulator) use a powered hub to connect to USB 2 ports to avoid overload.
