Bugsniffer –
Well-made, useful USB outputs – but can’t use it with UK 2-pin plugs
Firstly the description states that it is electrically safe, which was important to me, but this is not something I can test myself, and I have to rely on and trust the manufacturer’s assurances that it “passes stringent UK safety standards”. What is a bit strange though is that the description for other MyTravelPal models states “One of the very few all-in-one travel adapters that passes the very strict regulatory standard BS:8546” – but that statement is omitted in the description of this model – is that an oversight, or is this particular model somehow less safe? The description on the Amazon website is very detailed, and there’s a lot of useful information to absorb. One if the things that I missed when I first read it is that of the 2 USB-C ports, only one is “fast charge” capable (the one via the built-in cable), and even that one is limited to 20 watts max. The only criticism I have is that you can’t plug in a standard UK 2-pin plug of the type used for electric shavers and electric toothbrush chargers. This is mentioned in the documentation, but there is so much information that I didn’t see this proviso until after I’d purchased the adaptor! This means that I have to use a different adaptor for those items, which is disappointing. Apart from that niggle, everything else is fine, and I’m happy with my purchase.

Quality Product
So far so good, seems like a quality product and look forward to using it. Thought the sliders werenât going to work but you actually have to push them in and slide and do the same to retract the plugs – pushing them in releases a lock from what I can see.

Been on two trips to Japan from the UK with this thing, and actually even take it on domestic holidays to use as a USB plug. Great build quality and design, good value, seems to charge things at an acceptable speed, feels secure in sockets, and I love knowing that I have an adapter I can use almost anywhere in the world.

Very useful travel plug with usb connection
This travel plug worked in the USA and is proving a handy additional usb charger back home as it also works in the UK.My only criticism is that it has just two flat pins for the US, it doesnât have the additional round pin which some US sockets require, and because the plug itself is quite big, by the time you add your UK 3 pin plug the combined weight pulls it slightly out of the socket, therefore affecting the connection. As a result I only used the usb connection.
