Beautiful Wifi IP web cam, clear vibrant images
This is a really nice camera. I couldn’t really imagine the size of it till it actually arrived and it is smaller than I thought, Comes in box like a mobile phone. Beautiful. Easy to set up if you know what you are doing. If you want to access it remotely you have to open a port on your router. Easy to view on a mobile phone with either foscam app or other ip cam apps. I used ip cam viewer.Good quality images, and not bad in low light either. The IR light can be auto, on, or off. If you have it behind a window, then turn IR off otherwise it just reflects straight back in the dark!Really nice, I might get another one!Nice that it uses a standard usb micro cable for the power. So a normal phone lead will work too.HOWEVER: this camera seems to require 5V from the USB and no less. So when I tried it with a 5 meter USB extension cable, the 5.1V from the USB power supply was only 4.9V when it reached the camera, and the camera kept resetting. So it needs to be near a 13A mains socket/extension, which is a real PAIN.

Oh Dear!
If your a novice on computers, this camera can be a pain to set up. I found the motion detection slow to catch images and video, in fact it never did catch an image or video even when I tested it by walking past. The motion detection email arrived but the cameras images and video recorded nothing but stillness. I had two emails (motion detection) at 4.40am and 09.25 am. the video and images showed nothing but complete silence with no movement, I checked out the a area and all was well. Posted the C2 back today, not impressed with it at all.

Foscam design team failure.
Foscam have idiotically hardwired the IR filter and lamp together (how many pennies did they save doing this?). It’s a dumb move for a security camera manufacturer.Pros:- very good image quality- works well with Synology NAS using ONVIF.Cons:- You cannot login through a browser directly. Have to install their browser component, which rules out linux (unless installing a virtual machine). Even then, you have to register it with a phone app first. More idiocy.- The inability to switch off the IR lamp without disabling night vision. So must tape several layers over the lamp, or invalidate the warranty. Thanks, Foscam. Keep thinking.

Get if you need wide angle
Brilliant quality, widest FOSCAM I could find. Can’t control movement of camera, but found not necessary with the wide angle. No problems as per other reviews. Supplementing 5 other FOSCAMS (FI9831P v2 and FI9900P outdoor) I have connected to a Synology NAS. Using FOSCAM app on mobile, which is better for viewing (performance) than DS CAM.

Great and easy to use indoor surveillance camera
Having reviewed the FOSCAM C1 Light in the past, I was looking forward to review the improved C2.This CCTV camera is excellent, for a start the iOS apps means adding this to your nextwork is scarily easy. One click, a quick scan of the barcode on the back and then entering the password to your Wi-Fi means you’ll be set up in less than 3 minutes!Then just place it where you can, adjust the stand (or mount it on the wall) and that’s it. All it needs is power from a microUSB port! That is literally it.The app is pretty good, for about £40 a year you can review video from the last 7 days (this goes up to £100 for 30 days worth of video.If you don’t want to use this you can use the device to alert you when motion has been detected (the camera has a motion sensor AND IR light for its night mode).Essentially this is a great way of keeping track of your home or business whilst avoiding huge numbers of wires and difficult to use DVR systems.I genuinely like FOSCAM products due to their ease of use and have no qualms recommending them

Don’t buy it
I purchased this item with high hopes of an easy to use and versatile CameraHowever initial set up was easy then came the problemsI wanted to change the password as they explained in the manual and the camera stuck I re set told me it was done but kept on denying access to the default admin no password after re setFoscam customer service are a total waste of space and jus said oh it should not do that very strange this was after 2 days of e mails then when I sent the camera back they closed the tickett

Foscam C2: Good camera for this price. Easy to install. There are not problems for using a camera about 1,5 years. I like card memory slot for up to 32 G of memory. Quality of images is good but could be better.
