Perfect for AV calibration
Bought this stand specifically to hold a calibration microphone for my AV receiver, and itâs been spot on. The mic holder is snug and keeps the mic firmly in place without any wobble, which is exactly what you need for consistent measurements.Build quality is much better than I expected at this price â the stand feels solid and doesnât tip or shift, even when fully extended. The height adjustment is smooth and precise, so itâs easy to dial in the correct mic position at ear level, whether Iâm calibrating for seated or standing listening positions.For something that costs so little, itâs a no-brainer if youâre doing room correction with Dirac, Audyssey or similar systems. Does the job perfectly, and Iâm glad I didnât overpay for a more expensive model.

Fantastic value, in the true sense of the word!
I’ve had this mic stand for a little over a year now, and it has served me better than I could have ever hoped for the price I paid for it. I bought it just hoping for a mic stand sturdy enough to see me through some occasional use until I could afford something more sturdy. However, when the thing arrived, the quality was far greater than I had expected. I’m not sure if some of the lower-rating reviewers were definitely reviewing the same stand (I made sure to check for certain myself after reading their comments), because the joints are not all made of plastic. The T-section joint is metal, with a black powder-coated finish, and the tripod joint at the base is ABS-coated metal. The grip on the vertical shaft (for raising and lowering the stand) is indeed plastic, a tough ABS or similar, but in fairness if this was metal it would undoubtedly ruin the powder-coat finish on the vertical shaft. I was pleasantly surprised to find even the adjuster for extending the boom arm was a powder-coated metal. The screws used to tighten up areas of extension are all reliably strong, and have rubber stops to prevent them marring the poles. Even the rubber feet are yet to disappear into the nether, something I’m sure many people readng this review will have experienced with previous mic stands. I’ve certainly given this stand a fighting chance to impress, as I’ve been sure to keep it clean, dry and well maintained (a dab of silicone grease on the threads twice a year doesn’t hurt, either), but I feel that this stand could certainly hold its own even if it was just chucked in the back of the van or garage every night! The only bad points I can offer about this stand are 1: There’s no supplied mic clip, which for the price I think is fair, and 2: when extended to the maximum height (with the T bar above head height), it’s a little unsteady with heaviers mics on it. However, it’s unlikely that many people will need to extend the stand that high, especially with the extending boom arm that more than allows for upside-down condensers at a comfortable singing level. A good, reliable stand for a great price!

Good sturdy stand
I have a samson stand which I like a lot better than this one, but I can say that this one is much more durable and feels hefty and durable. The reason for that is personal preference. If you have a small room like mine, then I wouldnt recommend this, otherwise it will serve quite well for concerts and other on-stage performances. The hardware on this is good and worth the price.

Not very sturdy but it is very cheap after all
I returned the stand because there is a design fault with the boom meets the main stand they have decided to use a pinched metal with a bolt through it As the mechanism. This means that you canât entirely remove the bone from the base and then for example fit a music stand to it. It also means itâs extremely flimsy if you had a iPad adapter or something on the bone it would put that joint under a lot of pressure and I could sit snapping at some point in the future. Overall the quality of the metal is very lightweight and I could not see this being used for professional use. Possibly okay for karaoke for home use whether wouldnât be too much pressure on it.As the mechanism. This means that you canât entirely remove the boom from the base and then fruit sample fit music stand to it. It also means extremely flimsy if you had a iPad adapter or something on the boom it would put that join hundred or pressure and I could sit snapping at some point in the future. Functional, flimsy and short useable life.
Totally adequate mic stand for the price point if you take care when positioning. Not particularly stable/balanced with the boom extended (need to have the boom parallel with one of the feet or it falls over). Height extension twist lock mechanism is the best feature smooth and secure, the thumbwheel for boom extension is adequate but the boom angle requires severe locking to prevent slipping and that’s the major flaw with this stand, each time it’s adjusted it needs more force to lock the cheap brittle plastic housing securely, I’ve only had it a couple of months and it’s reached its limit, any further repositioning will likely strip the threads or not clamp securely meaning it’s pretty much a fixed angle now. I’ve bought a number of Tiger products over the years and in my experience the quality has usually been fair to good, the flimsy feet hinges, stability issues and durability of the tilt definitely put this in borderline poor category. In hindsight it would have probably been wise to invest another £10 -15 on a sturdier item.

It seems well built, but it’s very wobbly. It actually fell over a client even when it was secured with a sandbag (wrong end, apparently needs several sandbags to be secure). It’s decent and does the job if you need something cheap to use once in a while…but on its own it’s not stabile while holding a mic and a mic cord. In other words, it kind of does the job but is not to be trusted. For the current price, it’s decent.Edit = just changed it from 3 stars to 1 star…apparently they almost doubled the price since the time I purchased it. At the new price point, it’s trash.

La verdad es que estoy encantado con el stand, el brazo es bastante grande, asà que si piensas usarlo en un lugar con poco espacio, deberÃas tener en cuenta las medidas. Me anime a comprarlo a pesar de que no habÃa apenas referencias, solo encontré un video en youtube y me pareció lo suficientemente bueno como para arriesgarse, y la verdad que ha merecido la pena.Se le ve robusto y estable, yo lo uso principalmente con un micrófono condensador con pop (Rode nt1) en mi home studio, la duda que tenia era si iba a poder aguantar bien el peso, pues he visto que algunos stands baratos no consiguen mantenerse fijo mucho tiempo cuando el brazo esta completamente extendido. Después de haberlo probado varios dÃas no he tenido ningún problema, es bastante solido y aguanta el peso sin problemas, lo he dejado incluso varios dÃas con el micrófono colocado para ver si cedÃa, y no lo ha hecho se quedo tal como lo dejé.Asi que en mi opinion merece una buena puntuación, la relación calidad / precio es muy buena.
