Light Randomly comes on with a mind of it’s own
I bought 2 lights at for £19 each (still expensive per unit). One works fine and one had started turning on with a mind of it’s own (costing me in electricity). I’ve tried removing and re-installing the device, it’s the same problem. So it’s a faulty device.I now see that HIVE have jacked the price up to £43 per unit! I am genuinely appalled by this. I’ve been a user in the HIVE ecosystem for 10+ years. I will never buy another HIVE product. This pricing is totally unjustified, there are plenty of other competitors that offer equal quality products at a fraction of the price. I’ve just ordered 2 bulbs for £17 to replace these Hive bulbs which I’ll happy control via a 3rd party app due to the bitter taste HIVE have left my with. These lights have lasted c.3 months since becoming faulty.

Simple to pair with existing hive hub. Perfect to change to a custom white light in the kitchen. Hive app allows you to group multiple lights together too.

Terrible
I’ve had Hive bulbs for about 5 years and 2 finally gave out. I replaced 2 with this version of Hive and they lasted a couple of Months. After a bit of back and forth from Hive telling me it was too far away from the hub (4m at most) they finally sent me another pair out. 1 of which has last about 3 months and is now flickering, comes on randomly after being turned off by phone and appears on lose connection. I have lights further away and are absolutely fine

Donât buy these
I have various Hive devices around my home and have never had a problem. These GU10 bulbs like all the others were easy to install and set up. I have eight in total, four outside and four inside. After two months one randomly went offline and had to be reconnected. A couple of days later another light did the same. After just three months I have one bulb that has failed completely and four others that just go offline within minutes or hours of being connected every time I reinstall them. The issue is clearly not connectivity as they all worked for two months, they are just poor quality and not fit for purpose. I will try and return them but judging from other feedback, this is not going to be easy.Update: Spoken to Hive customer service twice now via Web Chat. On first occasion they admitted there is a known issue with these bulbs which presents itself within the first 3 to 6 months. They accessed my account and reconnected all the bulbs. They assured me this one a one time fix to resolve the issue. 30 minutes later 3 of 8 bulbs had disconnected and couldnât be found. Web Chat number two and they refused my request for a refund stating I was outside the returns period (a shocking 30 days for a premium product). Instead they offered to troubleshoot again. When I told them they had already done that and I couldnât see the point in doing it again they terminated the chat. I wonât be buying anything from Hive again.
