Works well controlling an extractor fan
Used to control a small extractor fan to exhaust warm air from a battery & inverter cupboard on my motorhome.

Fantastic – temperature triggered heater and cooler relays
I liked the fact this unit does exactly what it states, for a very reasonable price.I didn’t like the documentation – the Url in the accompanying printed sheet gave “404 not found”.No other documentation in the sheet. After some internet searches:F1 = your target temperature (-50C to 99C)F2 = your temperature tolerance around F1 (plus or minus 1C to 10C)F3 = Compressor Delay Time. I’m not sure what this does.F4 = temperature calibration adjustment (-10C to 10C). Maybe the temp sensor isn’t 100% accurate. So if you want 21C with a 3C band around that:F1 = 21CF2 = 3CThe heating relay will switch on when temp <= (21-3)The cooling relay will switch on when temp >= (21+3)In between (21-3) and (21+3) this unit does nothing, other than report the temperature.21 and 3 are my example figures. It works fine if nothing connected to heating or cooling (or both).Use your left thumb for pressing the small “S” (Set) button. You’ll need your right thumb for pressing the up and down arrows for adjusting, while holding down the S button. Here’s a link another seller provided to some pdf documentation:https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71VSFdFfszL.pdfThe wiring diagram in the above pdf shows ground as in/out of the heating/cooling relays. I used positive (12V) and it worked fine. The terminals (5+6) and (7+8) do NOT provide + and -They provide a “make/break” switch on a single wire. Whether that wire carries + or – is up to you.I’m using this to temperature control some astronomy equipment in the cold months. I bought some “12V heater film strips” from “sourcing map” here on Amazon and they work very well. In the warm months I’ll connect a fan to the cooler relay to cool things down.I replaced the temperature sensor with a different 10K NTC probe (also from Sourcing Map). It is of the waterproof type with a much smaller “bead head”, which fits into the small space I need. All in all – this ST 1000 is very flexible, great value for money, and once you understand how it works it’s very simple to integrate into almost any scenario.

Good quality thermostatic switching but temperature inaccurate
I bought this to build a homemade incubator that needs to maintain a temperature of 34°C +/- 0.5°C. It does this very well. I’ve only used the heating circuit. The instructions are a bit skimpy but you can find better wiring diagrams and instructions online very easily.Just four stars because the temperature reading of the probe is incorrect. It consistently reads somewhere between 0.95 and 1.05°C high. I’ve only checked this over the temperature range 50°C to 28°C … it may vary more outside this range. Once you’re aware of this you can use it with confidence. Caveat emptor … I suspect different units may over- or under-read by different amounts.Attached graph shows actual temperature (dotted lines) and the temperature displayed by the STC-1000 (solid line) in three separate ranges.I’d happily buy another … but I’d test it thoroughly as well.

Does what it says on the tin.
It works fine, however I wanted it to work on 12 v dc throughout my system. It works fine on 12 v dc on input and probe side however on the wiring diagrams it shows the heating cooling as 220 v ac .I have a 12 v dc prettier cooler so as stated it’s all 12 v dc . There are no diagrams for 12 v dc yet it is a 12 v dc unit. Eventually sorted it out and put a link from live to cooling on the positive side. On the prettier cooler put the positive side to the unit cooler switch and put the common side of cooler jointly into the common input side.Once this was worked out the unit works great.

    Does the job
Used 2 for a cut off switch for rc tyre warmers, easier to set than the dual one

There is a problem with the 12V option – the unit does not reliably start on power-up
These STC1000s seem to be a generic item sold by various suppliers in various configurations. I had a mains-powered one but wanted to try the 12V option for greater safety. Unfortunately I found a big problem: depending on how fast the power-rail comes up, the unit’s processor quite often does not start, and the screen stays blank. But other times it works fine.I cut the seal and opened it up and found the power rails were fine – ie the 12V and the 5V derived from it were present. Using a 12V switched mode plug supply it generally failed to start, or failed to restart after a power cut – not good! But with a switch inline to get power-on instantly, it was more likely to start. The issue is not a loose connection as far as I can tell – it just starts or doesn’t start in a fairly unpredictable way – or it may be due to how long it’s left after last use.I also concur with a previous reviewer that it’s a bit odd having 12V relays but (in this case) a diode and two high wattage dropping resistors in line with the 12V input, taking it down to a level where the display segments are much dimmer than on the mains powered unit. When it works, it works fine – but unless mine is just a rogue unit there does seem to be a design issue maybe in the 12V version.

We live in a big farm that we are turning in a zero emission hotel kind of place. We started off with resol, valliant etc systems. And they are not bad, but after over 10 years, non was without an outage. We have at least a dozen of these industrial cheap Chinese temperature relais, and never did even 1 fail.Never even had to replace the sensor. These things are dumb relais. But dumb relais that keep on going.
