Quietly powerful & great value
This desk fan is great and because it fold flat itâs very portable and compact to store. On the higher speeds it gives great airflow for its size and and on the lower settings itâs very quiet. The battery life is good too. Iâve been using on my desk in this warm weather and itâs lasting the full work day. Easy to charge with a USB C charger.I noticed a couple of reviews said that itâs noisy, thatâs not the experience Iâve had, itâs nosier on the higher speeds than the lower speeds but thatâs because itâs moving more air. I compared the noise to another bigger fan we have and thatâs the same the higher the air out put the more noise, I guess thatâs just physics!Great value for money 5 stars!

Not bad, but âWhisper Quietâ is quite a stretch.
Been trying this fan out for a bit now, and overall it’s decent, but letâs just say the âwhisper quietâ part feels more like marketing than reality. On the lowest setting, yeah, itâs reasonably quiet as onhe would expected it to be, but once you crank it up past speed two, youâre definitely hearing it. Not loud enough to be annoying, but itâs there. Highest setting is really noticeable. That said, it does a good job cooling you off. The airflow is actually stronger than I expected for something this size. Direct it right at you, and it handles the job on a hot afternoon just fine. Donât expect it to cool a whole room or anything as itâs a personal fan (more in your face than room), not a magic box.The designâs pretty slick. Folds down flat, which makes it easy to throw in a backpack or drawer. USB-C charging is a plus. On the lower settings it will last a bit, but obviously, the higher the speed, the quicker it drains.Couple of small misses:- No oscillation, so youâve got to angle it manually.- The top speed setting isnât really sustainable if youâre going cordless all day, expect to recharge more often.- Build quality is decent, but a bit plasticky for the price. So yeah, not perfect, but still useful. If youâre after a portable desk fan that looks clean and does the basics well, this checks most boxes. Just know itâs not as silent as the name suggests.

Top quality, powerful and cordless!
Super handy, totally cordless, and folds up small enough to take anywhere – included dust bag great for this! Itâs quiet, powerful, and looks great too. Perfect for work, travel, or chilling in the garden. Total summer must-have!

Whisper quiet?
This attractive compact, cordless fan from Dimplex has some nice features – it can be folded flat for storage when not in use (a storage pouch is also supplied), the internal 4000mAh battery is easily rechargeable with the provided usb-c cable and the stem provides a good range of adjustment. The fan is operated with a simple onâ/off button, with a separate button to cycle between the four fan speeds – thereâs no memory function for the previous setting, with the fan always switching on at the lowest speed. The fan generates a decent breeze (for its size), even at the lowest speed setting; however this is where things become less satisfactory. The fan is described as âwhisper quietâ, however even at the lowest speed setting the motor noise is quite intrusive. To compound this, the front of the fan incorporates a rotating louvre, presumably intended to increase the spread of the airflow. On my fan, this is clearly catching somewhere, resulting in an additional cyclic shushing noise over the sound of the motor. Fortunately the louvre can be locked in place by turning the silver centre, but overall this performance is rather disappointing coming from a well-recognised brand name.

Loud
Incredibly loud for such a small fan

A good choice for a portable rechargeable desk fan.
A 7â rechargeable cordless desk fan by a well known manufacturer.A Matt white plastic construction this fan has a quality look and feel to it.The fan folds down flat and can be stored in a material bag that is included. The rechargeable battery is located in the base and recharges via a usb c socket. A usb charging lead is included. It gives a good runtime, easily lasting all night on a low speed setting. There are four speed settings which are confirmed by the four white Mini leds by the power and speed buttons. The ledâs go off after a minute or so.A slightly longer press on the power button will light the ledâs to show the battery charge. In use the slowest speed setting is very quiet, with the higher speed settings having a progressively louder whine. Not an unpleasant noise, but itâs there. Speed is easily controlled by pressing the speed button. The stand pole is hinged at the base and the back of the fan, enabling a variable height and angle for the fan.In the front of the fan is a fine bladed grille. This grill will rotate being pushed around by the wind from the fan. The faster the fan the faster the rotation. It does seem to amplify the speed of the air being blown from the fan. Air movement is strong and effective. There is a chrome centre knob in the front of the fan. Twisting this clockwise a few rotations will lock the front grille from rotating, if so desired.Net weight is 0.66kg, so it could be a holiday travel item.A good quality portable rechargeable fan. Recommended.

Usefully Compact
This is a very compact fan which is great for me as I want to keep it beside my bed. No fan with blades is going to be silent but I find this quite quiet and I can easily ignore that background white noise it makes. The angle you have it at can be adjusted easily and you can run it at three speeds. I was surprised at its power for a fan so small. I think it is likely that I will run it on the lowest setting but good to have other options. It does look a bit plasticky but given it is by Dimplex, I think it is probably well made.
