Excellent scanner with awkward software for photo scanning
This scanner is excellent – fast, with a reasonable capacity, and compact when not in use. The software – Scansnap Home – is only just adequate and the interface is confusing and unhelpful. The envisaged uses are clearly directed towards documents; the provision for photo scanning are well hidden. The manual, even the “Advanced” version, is very brief. The functions are correctly described, but there is virtully no guidance on the effect of these functions. A lot of experimentation is required. However, once the software is set up scanning of photographs is rapid and effective, Setting image quality to ‘Excellent’ slows the scanning, but the resolution is sufficient for any printed image. This is a very good system once configured correctly.

Bought this in February 2022. A very impressive scanner, super fast. Don’t know if the tech support is any good because I have never had to use them. I have just ordered another one for our other office. I definitely recommend this scanner

Quick and easy.
I scanned the whole of a 4 drawer cabinet onto my computer and all of my photos with the previous model, the ix 500. I have updated this because I am continually scanning physical letters and photos.

Arrived today and installed in minutes. The scanning software is very good, very easy to use, quiet as well. Fully recommend. I have not needed to try the support as yet and hopefully won’t have to.

Good product
I read other reviews and was cautious as to whether it would be tricky to set up but decided to give it a try. I have been very pleased. Software download and connectivity was no issue. The scanner is fast and will do double sided automatically and cope with multiple sheets. It is compact and sits on my desk and image quality is good.
