Handy Adapters For Older Cables
Most of my portable devices use the Type-C interface. However, my old-but-still-going iPad Air uses the legacy lightning interface. I’ve had other Apple devices in the past, so have several lightning cables lying around, which are only useable (for me) on the iPad.Using these adapters, I can convert (temporarily or permanently) those old cables to support Type-C as well as – or instead of – lightning. The adapters are very light, but feel well made, and come with a rubber lanyard – which you can attach to the lightning cable, ensuring that it won’t get lost, when not in use.In use, charging my Samsung S21U works at the maximum 25W (using a suitable adapter). Data transfer between my laptop and phone works fine too. This is capped at USB 2 speeds (but then so are the cables you attach them to).These work exactly as advertised, and are a great way for breathing new life in to older cables – or just to reduce the number of cables you need to carry around. At the time of review, the price for a two pack makes them good value.
