Just works ð astonishing little thing!
I bought this hygrometer for my cigar humidor. I decided to move on from the analogue hygrometer and what a perfectly right decision this was!This little thing keeps me informed 24/7 if my cigars arenât at a perfect 69%. I plan to buy a couple more for other cigar storage.Itâs a little bit wonky how you get it connected but when the app doesnât find it, it will walk you through connecting to the devicesâ own wifi and then from there it will add itself to your home wifi – the same way Alexa connects itself to your home network. Very clever and easy (in the end).I have found it extremely accurate. I know my humidor will be at 69% because I use the Boveda pouches. Despite this, the app shows it at 70% which, for my purposes, and taking into consideration the cost and convenience, will do me nicely thank you very much. Whilst humidity itself is quite literally relative, the accuracy for me is also relative – so I just have 70% as my norm and any fluctuations that I need to act upon are all relative to that baseline. So whether itâs 69% or 70% that it shows, it doesnât matter.With that said, it would be nice to be able to calibrate the hygrometer but I havenât found a way to do that?So far I havenât got the alerts working for the hygrometer even though another device I have in my Smart Life app manages to alert me correctly. Not sure why the hygrometer doesnât do the same (I have keenly set up the rules).EDIT: notifications for the hygrometer now working, unsure whether changes ð¤·ââï¸

Real time monitoring?
As others have mentioned they work quite well but don’t deliver on all they promise.The temperature only updates once per hour and that seems to happen at different times for each device. I can’t see anyway to change this.They work with Alexa once added to a room but will only tell you the latest temperature received in the app and not the current temperature.The ability to download the data works but you have to download regularly for the maximum data. Downloading a years worth of data will not give a reading for every hour and you have to download for each device. The downloads links also arrive via email eventually, so not the easiest.Data sent is what is shown in the app, so daily is every hour, monthly is daily average, and yearly is monthly average.

I use this via Tuya with Home Assistant and it works very well, reporting temperature to 0.1 degrees and humidity to 1% both every 5 minutes. Very easy to set up. Too early to report on battery life.

Very pleased with these sensors!
Arrived earlier than expected and I’m very pleased with the accuracy when compared alongside another monitor. Setting up with Smart Life and then pairing with Alexa was very easy. The only slight negative is that only %rh is displayed in the Alexa app not the temperature. However, if you ask Alexa the temperature she will tell you! Both %rh and temperature are displayed in Smart Life. Smart Life will also give a trend or history of %rh and temperature. I’m not sure about battery life yet, but if it disappoints I will edit this review. Summing up so far these sensors are great!Just a top up to my review 5 months later and battery level is still high confirming these are excellent value.

Far too sluggish
I had ordered them to automate heating within my home. They arrived quickly and are easy to set up with either Tuya or SmartLife app. They are also reasonably small. Thatâs where the positives end.The temperature was not exactly accurate but I could have tolerated that and adjusted for it. However, the updates to the app were far too slow and were lagging behind the real temperature too much. And as much as I tried the created automation was always a hit and miss and too unreliable. At one point the temperature in the room had exceeded the set upper temperature (where the heating was meant to be switched off) by four degrees and the heating was still on. They have been returned.

SIMPLE & EASY TO SET-UP FOR USE BY ALEXA
These sensors are small and easy to set-up using the Smart Life app. From there, Alexa automatically recognises them if your two apps are connected so you just need to add them to the appropriate group/room.I donât use them for automation yet, but note that pre-configured âscenesâ on the Smart Life app require a paid subscription. Alexaâs do not. Another thing to be aware of is that the sensors donât update that often (few times an hour) so wouldnât be suitable where continuous monitoring is needed, such as heating controls.

Well it says it Tuya and works with Alexa, and for that I would have to say kind of.In respect of temperature yes it works with Alexa so that you can ask the temperature and it tells you. But while humidity is shown in the Alexa app, asking Alexa for it simply results in a message that this isnât supported yet.It also does not supply a trigger for routines in Alexa based on temperature.So I say it works kind of and leave it at that.

Good for the price
It is small and light. not much bigger than my thumb and still contains 2 AAA batteries. It integrates well into the smartlife app which I already had running with other sensors attached. The app found the sensor as soon as it was switched on and paired immediately over WiFi. There is a Bluetooth option as well which would probably assist setup on a brand new install. It took a while before the temperature and humidity readings settled. At first was 3deg out but that was reduced to 1deg by the following morning. Interestingly the readings seen on the detailed reading history were almost spot on which implies that the headline readings are highly averaged. perhaps one an hour.

I am using these with the SmartLife app….maybe that has something to do with my success?I didn’t know what to expect on these little guys, not very expensive and everyone complains about the battery life, so much so I bought usb to AAA converts for the two I have (haven’t used them yet!) I bought and linked these up over two months ago and STILL on the same batteries I put I’m to start with. For a wireless, WIFI temperature sending units, that is FANTASTIC! I will absolutely buy more if these.Why I bought them: made the jump a few years ago to mini splits. When the minisplits are in heat or cool mode, the algorithm they use make them over heat or over cool. Not their fault, the units I have are over sized for their application by a good margin. In the winter I cannot run them in “Auto” mode (holds the temperature within half degree to set point) because they do not defrost for whatever reason. So…I use these little units to actually turn on and off the mini split units via the app to keep the temperature within a degree hysteresis of setpoint. And it works absolutely perfect.If you are concerned about the battery life…dont. If you are still concerned about the battery life, look for usb to AAA adapter here on Amazon. It gives you a wall wart and replaces the battery in the unit with an adapter.Again…great little units, will buy a bunch more of them for different applications.

Heute den 4er Pack erhalten und installiert. Mein erster Eindruck:Solides Produkt, sehr kompakt verpackt, einfachst zu installieren. Die Sensoren sind schön klein und funktionieren mit normalen AAA (Micro, LR-03) Batterien, die auch beigelegt sind.Das Installieren in der Smart Life App könnte nicht einfacher sein (musste nicht einmal eine Bedienungsanleitung lesen hierfür): Batterie einlegen, in der Smart Life App auf den Plus-Knopf drücken, “Add Device” wählen. Findet den Sensor sofort (der Einfachheit halber empfehle ich, einen nach dem anderen zu erledigen und nicht gleich alle 4 mit Batterien zu versehen). An das WLAN anbinden, dann noch einen Namen vergeben (sonst werden sie aber auch durchgezählt, das ist sehr angenehm). Und schon zeigen sie Temperatur und Luftfeuchte an.Ich habe erst einmal alle 4 nebeneinander gelegt und sie zeigen innerhalb von 0,8 Grad dieselbe Temperatur und innerhalb von 2% dieselbe Luftfeuchtigkeit. Das erfüllt meine Erwartungen.Ich werde zu meinen Erfahrungen bzgl. Tauglichkeit bei kalten Temperaturen (drauÃen, regengeschützt) und Batteriehaltedauer noch berichten.Insgesamt bin ich bisher für weniger als â¬9 pro Sensor im 4er Pack sehr begeistert und kann das Produkt nur wärmstens empfehlen!
