CHERRY – A company with tradition
As early as 1953, Walter L. Cherry began manufacturing the first microswitches in the basement of a restaurant in Illinois. 20 years later, the first keyboards were built – making CHERRY the oldest manufacturer of computer keyboards. In 1983, production of the MX switches began, which are now used billions of times in millions of keyboards around the world.

great quality for the money
This replaced a Logitech model that had every conceivable key you could think of. I wanted something smaller, sleeker and more aesthetically pleasing. This fits the bill. It has a few multimedia and program keys, probably the right amount to keep it sleek. If feels great to type on and in my opinion is of very good quality although I have no others to compare. It is quite heavy and stays firm on the desk. The only gripe I have is that to program the keys (email for example) you have to have the program (Cherry Keys) running in the background otherwise it doesnât work. This may be minor to some people but it would have been nice to be able to reprogram the keys directly. This is available on dearer cherry keyboards. The mouse is of straight design so is available for both right handed and left handed people. It is small but not so small that it doesnât feel comfortable with your hand around it. The side buttons (forward/back in browser) are light to touch and you can sometimes press them by mistake. They are the only buttons other than the scroll wheel button. It responds and operates well and is perfectly adequate and useable even though itâs a simple design. You can program 3 varying DPI settings for varying degrees of sensitivity for your needs. For my basic office work I simply use the basic slower sensitivity so wouldnât know how to advise on the effectiveness of this.

Solid construction & performance. Exceeded expectations!
The build quality is solid. No flimsy plastic feel, no rattling parts. Keys have held up perfectly â no fading on the keys even after heavy use. The most frequently used keys have developed a slight shine compared to the matt texture they had originally, but this is not an issue for me. The mouse works as it should: precise tracking, zero lag. The scroll wheelâs textured grip does wear down eventually, making it less tactile over time and occasionally difficult to gauge whether its registered a scroll.Wireless connectivity is great, no dropped signals in my experience.Battery life is very reasonable, and the use of AA batteries for both devices is practical. For context I use the mouse (4-5 hours daily, including gaming) much more often than the keyboard (about 2-5 hours weekly). The mouse battery lasts roughly 2-3 months; the keyboard battery lasts about 3-4 months. I do turn off the power switches on both devices whenever they’re not in use. The mouse LED (just behind the mouse wheel) will flash 10 times to indicate low battery. I haven’t noticed any LEDs flashing on they keyboard, I just change the battery when I find it to be laggy or missing keystrokes. They mouse is lightweight, but the keyboard is not light which is a good feature! It feels solid and weighty, does not ‘creak’ or flex, and is firmly planted when typing, even on your lap. Key presses are quiet but not silent â deliberate and slow typing minimizes noise to a whisper, but normal/fast typing produces clack sounds.Bonus points for CHERRY’s customer service.: I damaged a keycap once while vacuuming the keyboard (not recommended). Contacted support, and they mailed a replacement key free of charge! No arguments, no delays.Itâs not flashy, but itâs exactly what you need: a reliable keyboard and mouse that donât demand your attention. Would buy again.

Great keyboard but mouse not quite as good
The keyboard is really great-very solid with lights for CapsLock and NumLock. Nice size, very positive clicks and several easily programmable keys using the free Cherry software download. The mouse is OK and also has easily programmable keys but is not quite as solid and just takes a little bit of getting used to-but is fine. The whole thing sets up very easily and is a huge improvement on my previous unbranded and cheap keyboard

For such a simple thing to bring so much joy…
Oh my, after years of going for the usual keyboard choice, I canât help noticing the mouse / keyboard pairing alternative from that company to this CHERRY product costs over 100% more at time of writing, if YOU haven’t heard of CHERRY keyboard and mice before as well (I hadn’t) man oh man are you in for a treat. Here’s why:>>> Quality like you would not believeI can quite confidently say this is the Rolls-Royce of keyboards. Why? Because of its weight (the overall physical weight of it) It’s not just a plastic piece of nonsense. This is built like a musical instrument, it’s a pleasure to touch. I regularly write thousands of words a day. This makes a difference. Additionally, it’s:>> Stable. The weight in its construction means it falls under your fingers like a piano. It’s like it’s carved in stone, part of your body. Does this make it easier to write? Hell yes, it removes the obstacle of having to cope with something ergonomically inferior. Will it make you a better writer? Well no, donât be daft. It will help though.>>> Intuitive. Everything is where you expect it to be. The sizing is perfect, keys fall naturally under your fingers. No learning curve. There ARE lights on the caps lock and num lock keys, despite what other reviews here state.>>> It works. Plug the dongle in to a USB Post (the dongle is stored charmingly in the base of the mouse) and it works instantly. You Do have some AA batteries handy donât you? Youâll need three. Two for the keyboard and one for the mouse. It’s an absolutely beautiful piece of kit that’s making writing this a joy. Sounds silly? I use a keyboard for over 12 hours a day. It’s the only physical point of contact I have with the big old Desktop PC I use. As far as I’m concerned, it’s like the tyres on your car. Dull things to look at and think about, but the only points of contact the car has with the road, so super-important.I made Madame hold this thing (THE KEYBOARD, stop with your fnarrr fnarrrs) because I can’t believe itâs so heavy. For the price this is ridiculous value and absolutely the best keyboard I have ever used. I bought madame upstairs (my other half, she works upstairs) one of the usual suspect brands at twice this price a month ago, which just doesn’t make sense. THIS should be the one nudging three figures or even over. It’s simply outstanding.A few more, final things:*** AA Batteries – have some handy, none included.*** Beautifully packaged with NO PLASTIC – important to me.*** The mouse is awesome too and more ergonomically friendly than any of the usual-suspect competitors you might think would be the Logi (cal) tech choice. We’ll see how it stands up in the workshop, where ingress of brass particles and lager (don’t ask) are a hazard. I tell you what though, if I killed it by accident next month, I would buy another one instantly. This is absolutely NOT a review in return for a free product. You can spot those a mile off by the over-the-top, detailed step-by-step unboxing photos. This is the opposite, you can tell by the one picture of it in my dirty old workshop. Itâs something I bought with my own money that is pretty much my purchase of the year so far and I am so delighted with it I want you to know, then you can get one and be delighted too!

A month ago, I ordered a $19.95 keyboard that was so lightweight that it slid around on my desk when I used it. Even worse, I would type something and then go back to check on it, but several of the letters were often doubled or tripled. Or as the keyboard would type “doooubbbled orr tripplled”. This new keyboard was $47.99, but it is weighted so it does not slide around at all. Seldom are letters doubled as with the cheap keyboard. I like that the Caps Lock key has a light on the key itself to show that it is typing in all caps. The cheap one had a light on the opposite side that was so faint, I had to squint to see if it was off or on. The Num Lock key on the new keyboard also has a light on the key itself. That may not seem important, but when you type a lot, it is quicker and less frustrating to have the better keyboard. I had to take a crowbar to my wallet in order to get the new keyboard (and a bat flew out of my wallet when I opened it), but it was well worth the extra cost!

Every time I order a keyboard from Cherry in the past year I have to return it because they keep sending me wrong layouts. This one came in quertz layout. I only ordered it because the wired ones were European layouts. I just want one like the 2 that I have, exactly the same, why aren’t they making normal US layout keyboards for the Stream series anymore? I can’t even just get the US with Euro key one even.

Very nice keyboard. Runs fantastically. Unfortunately, the mouse is very heavy with a battery.
