Well made solid Boom Arm
I do various video presentations and training programs on video so need a good boom arm for my large professional microphone which I always want hidden out of sight of the camera. This boom arm is very well made it is sturdy and stable I have a microphone shock mount with pop filter that screws directly into this holder. Once set up this boom is very stable and once tightened there will not be any creep movement from joints. The cables are held well out of harm using the cable management system that includes clips and channels keeping a tight hold on the mic cables etc.I can’t really fault the engineering of this boom arm it is just about perfect. But I think they have missed a trick by limiting it to a low profile arm. I often want the mic up above my head out of camera shot and sometimes low down below chest hight again out of camera shot. The later is easily achieved using this arm however due to the first elbow going being a fixed joint on the arm it is not easily manoeuvred to a high profile. I know this is a low profile arm and it is great at that job but I am sure I am not alone in needing something slightly more versatile. By including a flexible elbow at the first joint from the desk it would have allowed the arm to be raised up above the camera and monitor, making this a fits all style boom arm that is well engineered and perfect for all jobs. As it is it is perfect as a low profile arm only which if thats all you want then great, I would have loved this to have been both low and high profile.Having said all that I think this is one of the best engineered arms available for the price.

Sturdy and versatile
This is a very functional and fit for purpose Microphone Arm.I like the versatility of the various flexible adjustments so you can get the Microphone in the best position that works for you. The clamp works well with the thickness of my desk and once clamped it stays in place well and is very strong and sturdy.It has a good compatibility with different types of Microphone and I like how quick it is is to install and manipulate when using. Overall a really good product.

This is not going to hold any microphones heavier than 0.5kg at any joints. As design is good, but not suitable for professional use.

does not provide enough support
while this looks and feels great when you get it out of the box, practically, I just could not get this to support an industry standard Rode NT2-A mic and shockmount despite it saying that it’s “compatible with a wide range of microphone and shockmount combinations”. It just kept drooping no matter how hard I tightened the joints with my fingers or the allen key. In addition, the ball socket does not actually rotate 180 degrees and stops just shy of vertical (see photo) and the adapter screw will come off in the mic shockmount when you remove it and this is impossible to unscrew with your bare hands. You’ll need something wide like a knife to turn the screw to remove it. Very disappointed with this because, as I say, it looks great and attaches to the desk really easily. It just doesn’t hold my 900g mic.
