    Superb for a cheap tablet
This is a much better tablet than I was expecting for £90. First off though, it doesn’t support the latest version of Android as it only supports up to 13 and the current version of the Android OS is 14. It seems a bit naughty to say it “is equipped with the latest Android 13 operating system” as it makes it sound more up-to-date than it is and could easily mislead people who don’t keep track of OS versions: i.e. nearly everyone. With that out of the way everything else is pretty impressive for a tablet at this price point. The screen is only 1280 x 800, so marginally better than the old DVD format quality, but is crisp and clear. Eminently suitable for reading, browsing and most video requirements short of true HD and 4k. General performance is decent if not stellar. I don’t play HD games on any of my tablets but it looks like it would struggle a bit with some of the latest HD games and physics engines. That’s fine though: if your looking for top end performance you’ll need to pay top end prices. The screen responsiveness is OK too. Again, not as good as the high end kit but fine for most people. The screen comes with a thin plastic screen protector pre-fitted, which is a nice idea but is another thing which won’t aid screen responsiveness. It should be easy enough to peel off though. It comes in a fairly plain box, no fancy pictures, just plain brown/beige with a bit of labelling. In the box along with the tablet is a mains charger, USB-C cable, SIM socket release tool and some very basic setup instructions. Setup is very straightforward, if you already have a Google account you can just sign in and then follow the on-screen instructions to transfer your settings and apps from your old tablet/device.Once that’s done then all the standard Android ecosystem is available to you. I haven’t found any weird limitations at all – unlike some branded products you have full access to the Google Play Store. If you have non-technical relative or young kid this is ideal. If you just need a backup to your main device if you’re a bit more of a power user than you will still find this good enough to be useable. At £90 for a fully capable, if slightly out of date OS-wise, tablet this is great value for money.

    False Description
Advertised as 8GB(+4 extend) = 8GB RAM + 4GB extended i.e. virtual mem using ROMWhen you get it has only 4+4 – half the physical memory claimed.Very naughty

Affordable Tablet – Update: Battery Failing
UPDATE: after a couple of months the battery has started to fail and isn’t lasting beyond a few days in standbyI am incredibly grateful to be on the Vine program and occasionally things like this come up that you would like to test and offer an opinion on.First thing to say is that this is not a well-known brand. That sometimes comes with an advantage, as you are not paying for that name.Initial impressions of this tablet were very good. It felt lovely in the hands and if you had told me it was made by one of those big names I would have believed you, such the experience of simply holding it. It feels and looks good, and belies the asking priceTurning it on and allowing the display to come to life didn’t disappoint either.I will be honest, I was expecting a slightly washed out screen and a bit of a budget experience in terms of display but this was not the case. After signing into my Google account, I was ready to go. The touchscreen was responsive with little to no lag and the colours quite vibrant and no hint that this was a £90 tablet. The resolution is listed as 1280×800 pixels, which I think counts as ‘HD’ but only just. Tech has obviously moved on incredibly in the last few years and what was cutting edge even a few years ago is now entry level or ‘basic’ Have I mentioned it’s a £90 tablet? The cameras are slightly less impressive and tbh if I was going to expect a compromise it would be here. 8mp camera on the back, 2mp on the front, but it’s not just about megapixels, the lens quality and image processing also play a part here. If you’re hoping to use this tablet for video calls I reckon you’ll be fine with good light, but you may struggle in less optimal conditions.Battery life seems pretty decent. I’ve only had it a week so can’t comment on reliability but I’d been playing around on it for three hours straight and it’s gone from 85% to 50%One small thing that irks me is you’ve got to press the button to wake it and not touch the screen. Not a big deal at all, just something that I’m finding a little strange.Sound is good, certainly good enough for a tablet, screen brightness not too bad, videos more than watchable, gaming/apps pretty good. Caveat: I’m only playing basic games like pool, old arcade games, etc and not expecting it to cope with some of the more taxing apps.Like most things, it depends on what you’re buying this for. If you’re looking for an inexpensive tablet to watch content, play some simple apps, maybe video calls, I think this is a very decent buy. My only watch out would be the competition and brand knowledge an Amazon Fire Tablet provides.. but this has the advantage of being over £20 cheaper.

    Great budget tablet
I know the dreaded chore of trying to find a tablet, in the past I spent hours searching and reading many, many, many reviews for tablets and trying to find the best value for money, whilst not compromising on performance. With that said, I feel like I can confidently say this tablet will probably be the best, if not one of the best options out there for the “budget tablet” market. Why do I say that? Well, this tablet ticks all the boxes for me – it’s got a reasonably big screen (10.1 inches), it has a fairly good battery life, it outputs reasonable sound quality and it provides a good picture quality. I mostly use my tablet for video, on the go or when I’m relaxing in bed before sleeping, and this budget tablet has been as good as my older, more expensive tablet in that respect. The tablet is super easy to setup, as you’d expect from an Android device. You turn it on and run through the usual Android setup settings and that’s that. The device is practically ready to go (minus the apps you want to install if you opted to not transfer data).Overall, if you are looking for a budget tablet to watch movies/shows/videos on, this is perfect for you.
