Reliable, No-Frills 3M USB-C Cable – Great Value for Everyday Use
I bought this ANLINK 3-metre USB-A to USB-C cable specifically to power a security camera setup that needed a longer cable than the stock one provided. The price was appealing — cheap enough to be low-risk, but not so cheap that I expected it to be useless. The product description promised basic but important features: fast charging, data sync, a durable build, and broad compatibility with USB-C devices like phones, tablets, and controllers. I didn’t need anything fancy — just a simple, reliable cable to power a device a few metres from the plug. On that front, the ANLINK cable largely delivers.Straight out of the packaging, the cable has a fairly standard feel. It’s not braided or premium in texture, but the plastic insulation is thick enough to inspire some confidence in daily use. It’s flexible without being flimsy, and when fully extended, it reaches the full 3 metres as advertised. This length is one of the key benefits here — it’s long enough to comfortably run behind furniture or up a wall, which is ideal for things like mounted security cameras, hard-to-reach power banks, or console controllers. It also makes it far more comfortable to use your device while charging, without being tied to the plug socket like you are with typical 1-metre cables.Performance-wise, it charges at a standard speed — 5V at up to 2.1A — which is plenty for most everyday devices. I wouldn’t rely on it for power-hungry laptops or devices that support fast-charging protocols like Power Delivery or Quick Charge, but it wasn’t designed for that. I tested it with a Pixel phone, a Nintendo Switch Pro controller, and an Anker power bank, and it charged all of them with no issues. For data transfer, I moved a batch of photos from my phone to a laptop using the cable and noticed no delay or instability — the connection was steady and the speed matched what you’d expect from a USB 2.0 cable. One thing worth noting is that the cable is USB-A to USB-C, not USB-C to USB-C. This might sound obvious, but with more and more devices moving to USB-C ports at both ends, it’s easy to assume incorrectly. You’ll need to use this with a standard USB-A port on a power adapter, laptop, or charger — something that’s still very common, but worth double-checking before purchase. The connectors themselves fit snugly and securely into every port I tried — no wobbles, no loose contact, and they unplug with a firm but smooth grip. Over time, cheap cables can start to lose connection strength at the joints, but so far, this one feels solid. In terms of build quality, it’s about what you’d expect at this price — decent, nothing special, but certainly not poor. The cable doesn’t scream “high-end”, and the design is plain, with no branding or visual frills, but functionally it gets the job done. I wouldn’t use it as my main charging cable for heavy daily use on a phone that I rely on constantly, but as a backup or secondary cable, especially for fixed uses like security cameras or bedside chargers, it’s a great option. I’ve run it continuously to power a Wyze camera for several days now with no dropouts or signs of heat at the connector, which is a good sign in terms of safety and stability. One minor caveat is that the cable isn’t particularly rigid, so depending on how you run it — especially vertically — it might sag or slip if not well secured. A few cable clips or ties will solve this easily, but it’s worth being aware if you’re setting up a camera or device in a tight or awkward spot. It also doesn’t include any velcro strap or clip for storage, which is a small omission but would have been a nice touch for managing the extra length when not in use.As for durability, I can’t speak to its long-term life just yet, but given the thickness of the cord and the snug fit of the connectors, I’m optimistic. It’s not the sort of cable that will survive being yanked or bent excessively, but it doesn’t feel disposable either. I’d treat it with some care and expect it to last a decent while for light to moderate use. For demanding environments or if you’re travelling, you might want something more reinforced like a braided or nylon-wrapped cable, but for indoor, stationary use, this will do the job perfectly.Overall, I’d give this cable four stars. It’s not flashy or particularly fast, but it’s exactly what it claims to be: a long, dependable, USB-A to USB-C cable for basic charging and data transfer needs. The 3-metre length makes it especially useful in awkward setups, whether you’re powering a wall-mounted security camera, keeping a phone charged on the sofa, or charging a controller while still being able to play. It’s a very small investment for something that could come in handy in all sorts of scenarios, and at under a fiver, it’s hard to go wrong. I’m actually considering buying a couple more just to keep one in the car and one in the office. For this price, you won’t be disappointed — just remember it’s not a fast-charging beast, but a solid workhorse of a cable that quietly gets on with the job.

Powers A Personal Medical Alarm Device Smoothly With No Issues
I have the 3m version of this Anlink cable, with USB A to USB C connectors. It’s black and has a good quality feel about it overall. I wanted this for charging/running an alarm device. The cable it came with was way too small, whereas this 3M length is ideal. The USB A end goes into a plug, the USB C goes into the alarm device, all with no problems. It has provided power smoothly and I’ve had no problems whatsoever thankfully, so from my experience thus far it has been effective and reliable.

    Great quality, long cable
I needed an extra long charging cable to reach the security camera in my hallway. To get a good view, the camera is mounted high up, but it’s difficult to bring down to charge. This cable is good quality and 3 meters was more than I needed, so I had some cable to spare. I just used the cable tie to bundle it up.

Supports Limited PD and I didn’t expect that!
This is indeed a nice long USB A to C Cable, it doesn’t ‘feel’ like the best quality but can only really know after a long time of use.One thing that did surprise me, plugged it into my phone/charger combo that supports 100w fast charge and it identified as 60w capable and thus charged at such power, pleasantly surprised as I didn’t expect that to work! This was with an honor charger & phone so not sure if it will work with others. For the price for the 2 pack vs the 1 pack, I think I’d just get the 2 pack to have a spare, at the time of the review its £5.99 vs £7.99, just seems a no brainer to get the duo.

    Its a USB cable!
I ordered this usb cable to use in my car as my old one was quite damaged.Conveniently it is rather long so you will never be restricted by the length in your car.The cable is completely white, the usb-c fits my phone perfectly and there’s no wiggle on the cable which seems to imply precise manufacturing.Whilst the price is not the cheapest, I found this cable to be of decent quality and I hope that it will last me a long while.

  9. Crazy about books!

The ANLINK 10ft/3M long USB-C cable works well. I used it to charge a Pixel phone and had no issues with it charging. The 10-foot length is especially helpful as the outlet is a ways from where I charge my phone. This is a USB-A to USB-C cable. The cord is not braided but is of average thickness, so it should stand up to continued use. At $8.99 (at time of review), it is a budget-friendly, long charging cord.
