Best little tripod I have ever bought
As the title suggests, this beauty is the best small tripod I have ever bought and believe me, I’ve bought loads over the years. I am a semi pro travel photographer and have been for over 30-years. During that time I have travelled the world and to date have visited over 100 countries and literally thousands of destinations. Well that’s some background which should confirm my credentials and hopefully make you believe that I know what I am talking about – photography wise at least!Although I have been trying for years to get manufacturers and distributors to send me products to test and keep for free, all reviews that you read that I have done on Amazon are completely unbiased and the products have been purchased by me.So what is it that makes the iGadgitz PT310 Mini Lightweight Table Top Stand Tripod and Grip Stabilizer, in my opinion, stand out from the hundreds of mini tripods that are out there and what does this tripod excel at? Plus, what is it that I have been searching for, that up to now has not passed my high standard of requirements?Ok – well lets first tell you what equipment I use, how I use it and explane what up to now has been somewhat of a problem regarding camera stabilty etc.Historically, many moons ago, I used heavy pro grade 35mm film SLR’S, from Nikon and Canon, which were superceded by their DSLR equivalents. As mentioned, I am mainly a travel photographer, however, that can and does embody all styles of photography from Landscape to Portraiture and everything in between, such as night, street and celestrial, not to mention macro and super telephoto spy-like candid shots. My equipment now, apart from DSLR’s, encompasses an excellent Sony RX compact, 2 x Olympus EM1 micro 4/3rds mirrorless and the marvelous Nikon P900 bridge with 24 -2,000mm onboard lens (now superceded by the P1000 with 24-3,000mm lens)Whenever I can, both for photography work and relaxation, I take a cruise and more than often book a cabin with a balcony. What I have been searching for is a mini tripod that is very stable, even when used with a DSLR and one that I can use to add stablility by resting it, whilst attached to a camera, on the balcony rail. Ship rails are quite wide and thick and all tripods I have used before just sit on the top.So that’s one plus for this tripod as the legs open wide enough to straddle the rail and the inner rubber sleaves stop it from moving. The second plus is when all the legs are in the upright position they act as an extension to the camera and when held add to the stability and allow some side to side movement. When held above, with camera attached, it is an easy task to take images above peoples heads in a crowd, or to get a a high perspective shot.Third plus is the weight of the unit, which is brilliant and adds little to the overall weight of your camera gear.Fourth is the versatility – i.e. it can be used with most cameras, from a mobile phone (with 1/4 tripod screw attachment), right up to a mid-range DSLR, such as the Nikon D5000 range (maybe even the 7000 range as well). iGadgitz themselves quote up to 1.5K, but the tripod itself in the straight up position will i think support all DSLR’s, even pro ones, however, especially with a long lens attached, there could be a weight problem, when pointed down or up. That said, under the head unit are two screws, which can be tightened more than standard, which makes the unit grip the metal ball better, but don’t overtighten! Finally – the cost. At just over £13 its a real bargain and should not be missed.Oh, nearly forgot, the screw on wrist strap, both negates the likelihood of the screw scratching anything in your camera bag and could be used in someway to transport? In any event, it shows just how much thought had gone in producing this product and I certainly will look out for other items they make.

Solid piece of Kit
I have two similar Manfrotto desktop tripods, and because this one was cheaper, I was expecting a relatively poor tripod. Well I’m delighted to say I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It’s solid, steady, strong, reliable, locks in whatever position you want and has a ‘level’ built in, it even comes with a cap to cover the mechanism when not being used. The cap also has a cord which makes it easy to carry or thread through with you belt (if you want to carry it around with you!) I have used it with 7″ monitors, HDMI transceivers, camera’s and almost anything else that has a 1/4 connection. This item is great value for money and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a decent piece of kit at a decent price!

Useful, light and easy to carry
This table-top tripod is easy to use and the feet grip fairly well. The built-in ball and socket head is useful and its use of a lever makes it easy and quick to tighten in a fixed position. The tripod also makes a useful handle for a small camera so it can remain attached. I have only used the tripod for Olympus mirrorless cameras so do not know how well the tripod would cope with a DSLR, but having said that the tripod was stable and did not tip over when I attached a fairly heavy manual lens to my E-PL7.On the negative side, the tripod is not completely rigid. It flexes slightly when adjusting the camera controls, making it difficult to use for any manual focusing. Although the ball-and-socket holds the camera well it is difficult to adjust position of the camera smoothly, the movement is either tight or slack with no intermediate stiffness. The movement does not allow full 90 degree movement so the camera cannot be swivelled into portrait position. All in all this is a useful little tripod. It is very light, folds and unfolds quickly and easily fits into a bag or pocket when not attached to the camera.

Handy little stand – and not just for cameras
This is the second unit I’ve bought after using the first one solely for supporting my Canon EOS camera.Since then, I have found these tripods to be perfect devices to support the VIVE base stations used for VR. As the base station itself comes with two universal fixing points, these mount perfectly to the PT310 screw-thread on the tripod itself.Additional to that, as can be seen in the photos, the tripod comes with a small inbuilt spirit-level to assist in making the attached item flat and precise. Simply undo the small lever on the side of the tripod and base platform can be manipulated into titling, should you require that. Close it to and swivel movement is locked in place. When situated on a window cill or table top – the rubber feet help assure decent levels of grip without marking the surface beneath it.Overall, a great little gadget for a variety of uses – not just to support cameras.

Great
Bought this for my Canon EOS as itâs too heavy for my mini tripod with flexible legs. This one is solid and easily supports the weight of the camera with a larger lens attached.Adjustable for perfect levelling and the design looks like itâs well made enough to last for a long time. Cheaper than others and donât know why youâd pay more for a mini tripod.

I’ve tried a few mini tripods and this is the best so far. Easy to use, locks without wilting, stable. The spirit level is useful too. I love the carry handle that protects your pocket/bag from the screw. Makes a great hand grip. Very pleased.
