Hue power supply for outdoor lights
New power supply works great and saved buying a new set of lights

Got what I was looking for
Worked as Iâd hoped.

Received a dirty, used & faulty item
Needed an additional power supply as I was splitting my existing garden lights into two zones of the garden which could not be managed from a single plug. Received an opened package with what was clearly a used item which didn’t work (it was filthy – covered in dirt). I’d suggest that someone had bought this to replace a faulty unit and returned the old one for a refund which has then been restocked without checking! Ended up going to my nearest John Lewis and buying a whole new set of 3 lights plus power supply instead. Unimpressed.

Thrid time lucky??
This is the third adaptor I’ve had to buy in 5 years. I think Phillips hue need to pay more attention to the quality of their outdoor lighting selection. not only have i had to replace the adaptor, i have also have to replace a couple of lights during this period too.On a brighter note “Brighter note, get it?” the lights are pretty cool.

Exploded on first use
Bought this new power adapter to replace an old one that had failed. Plugged it in and the lights worked again! Happy with this I went to get some cable ties to start tucking the cables out of sight. As I returned to it there was a loud electrical crackling noise, followed by a bang that burst the thick shell of the power adapter. A jet of flames shot out and with that it sat there smouldering. Luckily nobody was hurt and thank god I wasnât holding it in my hand at the time. It managed to illuminate my lights for approx 2 minutes from start to explosion. One star.

Not very reliable
This is the 3rd one of these I’ve had to buy for my light in 5 years!! Seems to pack up after a couple of years. I’ve got other outdoor lights that are fine, just this transformer block not very reliable.

Failed after a few years
This is a replacement unit to one that failed. The unit that failed was just outside the reference code range of the units that were recalled due to a manufacturing error.

Received the package and the product had obviously been in substantial use, with visible scrapes beneath and dust on the power adapter. So far it’s working though.
