Video review: Works great to capture multiple audio sources at close range.
First thoughts:I was looking for an environmental mic to capture ambient audio or multiple voices for Vlogging, so I picked this one up to see how it would perform.Nice solid audio at 6ft away given that this mic doesnât require a power source. It performs well in both the DSLR and mobile phone test using the respective cables. There is very little background noise on the track, there is a little bit of low level hiss but this is mainly from the DSLR amplification (you can hear the hiss drop substantially lower when I switch from DSLR to mobile phone in the video because the mobile doesnât use any pre-amp).Detail and things to note (See pictures and video):Shotgun condenser mic (passive), foam pop filter and cold shoe cradle.1x TRS cable for DSLR cameras and 1x TRRS cable for mobile devices.A handy little bag to keep it all in is included. I often hang these off my tripods so theyâre ready to set up or pack away.Final thoughts:A nice and simple entry level external mic which I thought was easy to set up. I did take my time to get the audio balance correct on the camera first. I would suggest spending a little time doing this so you know the settings, distance and cables you need to use in a given situation or environment. I tested a few different audio sensitivity levels with the DSLR to get the most effective sound balance for my needs. Iâd recommend this mic for capturing audio from groups of subjects without the need for individual mics and receivers.

Good when the subject is speaking close up to it
I wanted to use An external microphone for my recordings for videos I make. This one is a nice small microphone and can be easily taken around in your pocket because itâs small and lightweight and compact. The quality of the sound is good it picks up really nicely and it has a bit of noise cancellation so it tends not to catch the background noises to much. It doesnât have a battery and it also has a windshield so it catches the sound clearly. It is very good on capturing sound when it is close up to you so if you are having it in a distance then the volume will not be so loud.It can be used with DSLR cameras and it has a nice stand that fits on top of the camera for a better fixing. That is a good thing when you using it with a camera but when it comes to using it with an iPhone it becomes tricky because there is nothing to hold it so you have to hold it in your hand and if youâre moving then it catches the noise. Also the cables provided are very very short so if you want to use them with something that is a little bit farther away from you you will need to replace them with longer ones. Are use an adapter when recording on iPhone. So overall a good quality for money offering clear sound at decent quality. Has a nice bag for storing.

Microphone
The product wasn’t doing what it was advertised to do as the microphone that I ordered was supposed to block out sound but tested it and was terrible sound proof quality

Good for general recording
This is small discreet and has good features. It takes a short while to set up but has good sound once it is set up on your computer. The price is about average for this type of budget level quality.

Not bad for the price
Mini condenser shotgun style, external microphone.Packaged well. Arrived in a small cardboard box. This comes with the external microphone and two 3.5mm audio jack cables.Quite a nice design. Quite compact also, this is roughly 9cm long and 1.5cm wide. When the camera is on its stand that you attach it to, its around 5.5cm tall. This has a metal body with a solid plastic stand. The microphone tip can be removed. This did not look in its best condition, the sound wasn’t effected but the quality didn’t look as nice with all dents in the microphone cover. This microphone is designed to improve sound quality of videos. This is not to be confused with normal phone video recording, for this microphone, you need an app that recognises an external microphone like tik tok or YouTube etc.The camera is suited for smartphones, DSLR cameras, PC’s and more. The sound is fantastic quality, it’s nice and clear, easy to hear and it shuts down most background noises so you’re more solely heard, than without a microphone. The only thing with the microphone is, there is no amplifier, so there is limited volume distribution. Whilst working with this from home, there were no issues but I could see this being an issue maybe if you’re out and about where it could potentially be quite noisy. For the price, it’s really not bad at all. Fantastic for home made videos. This would absolutely suit a tiktok or YouTube lover. I would recommend it.

Great quality mic
I’m not a pro just a amateur so I can’t compare this with anything else as this is my 1st microphone. The mic itself appears well made and quite sturdy, easy set up, the sound quality is very good much better than basic recordings from my iphoneAppears good value for money with the ease of design, quality of sound and quality of material.Great value for a amateur like myself

Nicama Mini Microphone Didnât Last That Long
Son tried this out at uni whilst doing online tutorials and he thought it both simple and quite ok at first to use for the job he needed it for. However after a month or so using it then suddenly you just stopped nothing no sound nothing just stopped working without any reason. Thankfully heâs used it for what it was intended and needed for beforehand but would be annoyed if he still needed it for his coursework.

Good sound from this little mic. Uni directional, so its good for filtering out extra noise and focusing on the person in front of the camera. very good value for the money. works for cameras AND smartphones, very versatile.im happy with this purchase.
