Its very nice for the price range. Nice and creamy switches. Some dust is trapped under the lcd screen but not worth returning just for that. Also wish the cable was braided.

I currently own around 30ish keyboards and even more keycap sets. After buying and loving a Yunzii AL65 with Gateron Zero switches, I looked to Yunzii the next time I purchased a keyboard. They have a lot of great boards to choose from, but I ultimately picked the AL80, since I wanted a 75% hotswap board with an anodized, beige, aluminum case, a knob and an LCD screen that supported animated GIFs. I also was NOT interested in a keyboard that required the removal of a keycap to change modes or turn off the keyboard, which is frustratingly common lately.The AL80 has a lot to recommend it, and I am not aware of another keyboard, especially at its price point, that offers the same array of features. Definitely not on Amazon, because I looked. The AL80 possesses a gorgeously anodized aluminum case, PVD weight, tri-mode capabilities, an easily accessible mode switch (no annoying keycap removal required), on-board dongle storage, dual batteries (total 6000mAh), *excellent* Gateron Zero linear switches (LOVE!), lubed stabilizers, PBT doubleshot keycaps, metal knob with a standard D shaft (easy to swap out for variety), robustly featured LCD screen with four different views that can be configured (date/time/mode/battery view with animated GIF; separate startup animated GIF; a full-screen animated GIF view; AND a view that allows you to swap between multiple static images), a light bar to the left of the arrow cluster (uses color to indicate which mode you’re on, then changes to RGB), VIA configuration, etc., etc.As a keyboard hobbyist, I’ve unfortunately become very particular, so I will add:The gasket mounting is stiff, which is not my personal preference. I’m finding it’s a surprisingly common “feature” among newer gasket mount mechanical keyboards, which are packed full – perhaps TOO full – of sound dampening foam layers. Gateron Zeros aren’t a heavy switch, and I don’t pound the keys when I type, so I don’t find it to be a problem – especially when Gateron Zeros are such a delight to type on.There is also a small section of the keyboard that sounds rather hollow when tapping on a few specific keys. On my keyboard, the U key is the only alpha noticeably affected by this during normal typing. The few others are adjacent number and F-row keys. Most users won’t notice anything, especially when those few keys sound better than many keyboards sold today.On the software side, VIA is VIA, love it or hate it. As for the separate LCD screen software, it works fairly well, but could use some enhancements and updates. It sometimes crashes, and the reset option does not seem to restore the original animated GIF files. I would also like to see an option to change the 24 hour clock to a 12 hour clock, and for end users to be able to change the time’s background color. Purple is just NOT a neutral color.Finally, Yunzii support is FANTASTIC to work with. Any questions or concerns I’ve had, there’s been a response as soon as the time difference allowed. They even actively read and respond to reviews. Which is one of the reasons I wound up buying a third Yunzii keyboard (another AL80, this time in Silver).

Heavier than I was expecting but you’ll get used to it. In one week I charged it once because accidentally I left it on during the night with the rgb on but since I charged it I’ve been using it for four days, 5-7 hours per day and my battery is at 80% now (RGB lights off).Have some questions about writing for a long time, since I’ve tried it once and felt a little bit uncomfortable. But it could be the adaptation to the keyboard.Comfortable to play casual games.
