The iQ7 offers advanced features that allow you to create extraordinary stereo recordings every time. A large front-facing MIC GAIN knob allows you to easily set the optimum input level, and three-segment LED level meters ensure clean, crisp sound with no signal overload.
In addition, a dedicated headphone jack—which doubles as a line output—allows you to monitor your audio during both recording and playback.

MID-SIDE RECORDING
Mid-side is an advanced recording technique that allows the width of the stereo image to be varied, even in post-production. The two microphone elements in the iQ7 include a directional “mid” mic that captures signal coming from directly in front of your iOS device, and a bidirectional “side” mic that captures the audio coming from both sides.
A three-way switch allows you to select between 90° (to focus on sounds coming from the center) and 120° (for a wider image that includes ambience and room signal). A third setting, labeled “M-S,” enables you record the audio “raw” and adjust its stereo width afterwards, using Zoom’s free downloadable Handy Recorder iOS app.
AMPLIFY YOUR CREATIVITY
The iQ7 is compatible with most iOS apps that support input from an external microphone, including Apple’s Voice Memo and Garageband, as well as other popular music recording, voice recognition, and streaming apps. For optimum audio quality, the Handy Recorder app supports a sample rate of 48 kHz.

A lot better than I expected
Being into music and stuff itâs difficult to get a decent audio recording on a iPhone.The iPhone mic is absolutely rubbish. Mono and only suitable for a phone call.Once you plug this baby in your able to finally make a decent stereo recording.Itâs great you can adjust the gain on the mic so if your recording a live concert you can back it off or increase the recording volume to suit.Upon listening to a recording from the mic I was quite impressed.Thereâs good low frequencies and clear highs as well.Time will tell once I get around to using it properly.Definitely worth a try. Itâs better then you think.

Good sound but maybe a little expensive
Sound is pretty good and the gain works, although even at lowest setting can still be too sensitive for a live band. Maybe a little expensive for what it is but not many options with a lightning port so this is probably as good as is available.

This microphone has a very serious fault: It’s not compatible with any phone with a proper , professional case as its lightning plug is too short. And there are no adapters in the market as far as I know . I tried about 5 or 6 adapters and tested with my iPhone which has a waterproof beasy body armour and also with another iPhone, this one with a normal case. Some adapters , the cheaper ones, simply didn’t work. The £15 adapters worked but only after I removed the Spigen case from the other phone. They wouldn’t work with my iPhone because their plugs are too thick and wouldn’t fit in the phone. . They claim that this mic works with most cases. This is simply not true. It doesn’t fit even with a phone with a normal Spigen case. And that after removing the lid on the lightning plugNow, if you have a microphone like this it’s obvious that you are going to use it as a professional or a keen amateur. In both cases you will be someone who cares about your phone and protects it with a case. Well, this microphone will work only with phones with very ordinary cases which offer little protection. And I am not sure if it will fit even with thin cases.My last attempt was a £36 Belkin lightning audio adapter. It didn’t work. An odd thing because £15 adapters worked (only on the iPhone without a case). And that Belkin is on Apple’s website.One thing worked though: Kokkia lighting extender. The plug is thin so I could pass it through the waterproof case. But then I can not use the phone with my Small rig cage.The mic is “cute” and it seems to deliver good sound but what is the point if you can’t use it with a phone protected by a real case? Or you can, once you spend £15 on a lightning extender but then you can’t use the phone with a cage ?People at Zoom should go back to the drawing board.

Good recording
My iPhone 11 Pro wasnât managing to pick up the singing and music of live playing. So I got this, and there is actually a difference. I use it for music now. The only problem is that because of the design, you canât use it with a case. But when I play music, the phone is stationary anyway so it doesnât matter too much.

Ho acquistato questo prodotto perché cercavo una soluzione portatile e di alta qualità per poter registrare in qualsiasi occasione. Il microfono registra in modalità stereo davvero molto bene e si connette molto facilmente allâiPhone (o un iPhone 12 e non ha nessun problema di compatibilità ). Non pesa nulla, il che lo rende perfetto per poterlo sempre portare nella custodia del mio violino in modo da poter registrare lezioni, concerti, prove in qualsiasi occasione. Ha un piccolo spessore in plastica vicino allo spinotto che può essere rimosso per poterlo connettere allâiPhone senza dover levare la cover. Le applicazioni zoom sono molto pratiche e di semplice utilizzo; peccato che negli anni non sia stata sviluppata come meritasse poiché avrebbe tutte le carte in regola per rendere questo prodotto un mini studio di registrazione e mixaggio portatile. à possibile ruotare la sezione in cui sono presenti le coppie di registratori stereo qualora si scelga la modalità solo audio o audio/video in modo da poter direzionare al meglio il microfono verso la fonte sonora da dover registrare. Inoltre lâho acquistato con il pagamento rateizzato Amazon ed è stato davvero comodissimo (5 rate da 20⬠circa). Davvero consigliato!!!

Sehr gute und kompakte Alternative zum IPhone-Mikrofon für Stereo-Aufnahmen. Nutze es um Instrumente (u.a. Flöte und Cembalo) damit aufzunehmen. 16 Bit sind zwar nicht mehr ganz zeitgemäà und wird oft kritisiert, aber das entspricht einer Dynamik von 96 dB. Muss man erstmal überbieten. Man muss beim Aussteuern etwas aufpassen, aber durch die analoge Aussteuerung (Drehrad) am IQ7 relativ problemlos. 48 KHz sind für mich OK. Etwas besser als CD. Aufnahmequalität ist in meinen Augen sehr gut. Die kostenlose App finde ich hervorragend und absolut ausreichend incl. Synchronisation der Daten mit ICloud, Soundcloud etc.. Dadurch problemlose Weiterverarbeitung der Daten möglich. In meinem Fall DAW auf dem IPad. Mitte/Seite Aufnahmetechnik scheint sehr gut zu funktionieren. Stereo-Wirkung ist sehr gut. Messung mit Goniometer ergibt sehr gute Werte betr. Monokompatibilität. Habe mir eine 2m Lightning-Verlängerung gekauft und das Mikro Solo am Ständer befestigt. (Marke Eigenbau) Vereinfacht die Aufnahme in meinem Fall sehr. IPhone oder IPad liegen dann mit auf dem Notenpult. Alles in allem: Gute und vor allem preiswerte Investition, zB. gegenüber Shure MV88 das auch sehr gut, aber wesentlich teurer ist, in ein kompaktes kleines Tonstudio. Ich habe sogar ein perfektes und preiswertes Rückläufer-Exemplar bei Amazon erstanden. 🙂 Must have!

Ero quasi tentato a togliere una stella a causa della incomprensibile scelta di non fornire l’articolo con una custodia. Ho dovuta acquistarne una separatamente per auricolari che si adatta perfettamente (come foto). Lascio comunque 5 stelle per la qualità eccellente di registrazione, la praticità d’uso e gli ottimi software gestionali video e audio.
