Quite handy little device
Found an old camcorder in the loft and wanted to convert the tapes to digital. My old usb capture device was t compatible with windows11 so I went in search of something more straightforward.Couldn’t be simpler.Even doubles up as a small TV screen for when I’m working on retro computers and consoles

Digetnew recorder
The buttons could be mie straightforward, it records fibe via tge HDMI cable, but can get AV input yo respond. Need a magnifying glass or enlarged photo to read micro print instructions. I will get mine used to it in time, but it’s not user friendly.

Great
I wish I got this sooner, only downfall is that the screen goes off when you plug an external monitor into it.
Stigmata –
Doesnât format
Every time I put SD card in it says to format card even though itâs already been formatted.Disappointing
Frequent Buyer –
Problem with powering on even when fully charged
Wonât start without external usbc power boost, even if the battery is full. You can run it fine on internal battery after startup with external boost. Lacks the quality it had a few years ago

Please note that the seller did not give me any benefits or any sorts of discount for my review of the purchase of this recorder. I am giving it an honest opinion for my extensive usage experience so that the future buyers would know the pros and cons before they make the buying decision. The reasons I gave it a 5 stars are the followings:1). It comes with everything you need includes a 50G sd card. A user manual, HDMI cable, charging cable with a transformer, a red, white & yellow RCA plugs for analog output source with a 3.5 mm male plug on other end for the recorderâs input( looks like an earphone jack) and it works fine.2). Itâs small and light so it is easy to carry around but it doesnât come with a carrying pouch or box for protection.3). The recorder is very easy to use. It can record vcr tapes and dvd videos to sd cards( have not try the usb memory stick yet). Plug the 3 colors cable to the vcr output source and plug the 3.5mm male plug into the recordâs AV input(it works fine). Also, you can record dvd digit videos by using the provided HDMI cable output and plug it into the recorder directly. I used it for approximately 10 hours a day non stop for 7 days and itâs still alive and kicking. You can delete a single file or all files, set it for AV or HDMI, 1080p or 720p, the screen has a choice of showing time stamp and the length of the memory remaining. The file numbers on screen also. Thereâs also a few other settings that is easy to set.4). It can handle up to 126G size sd card. I tried with a higher memory size sd card and failed. I think126G is good enough. You get almost 21 hours of recordings if you set it at 720p which is not much difference than1080p(10 hours). But, remember, Micro sd card might not work if you use it for a while. It will give you messages like please format card or no card. It might not recognize it.5). Great sellerâs quick responses to questions. Seller responded almost immediately to my questions.I rated it a 4 stars at first because below unsatisfactory situations but since the seller responded so fast therefore I decided to give a 5 stars rating, but I do have 5 below unsatisfied situations. But these unsatisfactory did not prevented me to rate the recorder with less stars because it had exceeded my minimum needs.1). The battery life only lasts approximately 1hour and 15 minutes.2). I need to reset it a few times to get it working again. That is after a few days of extensive used.3). This is not a dvd burner. You need to wait for the total time length of the video to finish the recording and thatâs waste of time.*** 4). Important â For 1080p setting – It cuts off( blanks out) for 1 second and continues a second file after 24 minutes of recording and 50 minutes 25 seconds for 720p setting.5). It doesnât come with a pouch or case for protection and it does not have earphone input jack.I feel that this recorder exceeds my expectations for the price that I paid. I am happy with its functionalities but I will see how long will this recorder last.

I bought this to convert several VHS home movies I have to digital format, and this made the process very easy. I just connected the video input cable to the RCA out jacks on the VCR and within seconds I could view what the VCR was playing on the device’s screen while the digital file was recording. The device also can operate on battery power, which was useful when I did not have another power outlet available. You only have to press one button to record, and then the recording will (usually) automatically stop when it no longer detects a video signal. This feature was a little glitchy at times: sometimes it stopped if there was a short gap in the video and sometimes it would not stop recording even at the end of the video. The device has a 4GB file limitation, which meant that some of my longer videos automatically were split into multiple files. I will be able to stitch them together with video software, but it would be nice to not have that limitation. The devices recorded well to both USB drives and the included SD card. The device also allows you to pass through video to an external monitor, but the source type has to be the same (RCA to RCA, HDMI to HDMI).Overall I like the device. It is really economical compared to spending $20-30 each to have someone else convert your home videos, which makes me overlook some of the features that could be improved.
