I have an older laptop which due to the increasinly demanding requirements of Windows run hotter than it did when new. I got this to help get a bit more air into the base vents to see if it did lower the temps a bit.In the box you get the cooler stand and a USB-A to USB-A cable. There are no instructions but it’s realtively self explanatory. Pop the USB-A cable into any free socket then into a power source which can provide OVER 1.5A (ideally a 2A charger).While you can stick it directly into a laptop I would advise against it, as the cooler draws nearly 1.7A, depending on your laptop this could put a strain on the ports (most laptops are at best about 1A).The digital watch display used the left two digits to indicate cooling speed, and the right two for RGB mode, it’s a bit retro but works well enough.Cooling performance is OK, my Lenovo does not seems to need to ramp it’s own fan up to max all the time so I’ll call that a win.

Works pretty well
I got this for my brother who got a old laptop that constantly gets heated up, so I thought this cooling pad would be perfect for him.It fits perfectly on top and the tray it thin you hardly notice itHe noticed that his laptop not getting as hot as it used to when he play games even while resting against legs rather than elevated on a surface so it must be doing something.It’s very light, easy to underestimate the build quality,I guess this one is the ideal solution for his needs, and with it having variable speed fans on it too, will help to keep it dust free whilst raised off the surface.
