Best you can get for this price, in my opinion
Iâm giving this 5 stars not because itâs perfect, but because itâs the best I could find for this price, having tried another case like this and had to return it because it snapped in half! The quality of this case seems much better in comparison â it is plastic, but not nasty plastic. The keyboard is nice to type with, and holds its charge well, and it does the job of converting your iPad into a laptop perfectly without getting in the way of using it as a tablet. I wasnât feeling particularly enthusiastic about the silver colour, as itâs a bit boring, but itâs also quite sleek, and it matches the colour of my iPad perfectly (though I wouldnât have chosen the porthole for the apple logo myself). Some things to bear in mind: the keyboard doesnât fold that far back, you might want a laptop sticker to cover up the sticker on the underside, and there isnât a space for the apple pencil, but I made up for this by adding an adhesive stylus pouch, and that worked perfectly. If youâre looking for a laptop-style case for your iPad, within this price bracket, get this one!

Good, but couple of potential drawbacks.
I got this to replace my Apple magic keyboard which had stopped working after several years. (The cost of buying a new one was prohibitively expensive and I couldn’t really justify it.) The keyboard is good. Pros: Converts your ipad into a small laptop. I like the way that you can easily detach (and reattach) the actual ipad from the keyboard. Cons? For me (I’m quite tall) the case doesn’t hinge back quite far enough. Another 5° – 10° flexibility would be welcome. Also, with the case the whole thing is surprisingly heavy compared with my magic keyboard case. It doesn’t bother me, but may be an issue for some people.

My worries were unjustified
First off I would like to say thatâs itâs an honest review as I bought it with my own money.At first I was worried that there will be a delay when typing as some other people have mentioned before. Seeing that it uses Bluetooth 3.0 instead of 5.0 made me worry that this would be true. I also saw a YouTube review and when that person typed I thought I was seeing a delay.Iâm using this keyboard as I write this review. I touch type with 80 words per minute and there isnât any noticeable lag, not any more than my Logitech K380 that is, which is great.Secondly I wasnât sure the small trackpad was worth 15 pounds more compared to the model without one. Now Iâm happy with my decision as it really helps if you are using your iPad in a confined space and canât use a mouse.Does it replace a mouse? Well⦠yes and no. No because itâs not as easy to use as a mouse and yes because you can use it for gestures.Note that the gestures even though they can be easy and fast to utilise some of them donât work the same way as touching the screen, for example the scrolling is laggish compared to scrolling through touch. Iâm not sure if there is a setting or another way to fix this but I donât mind it, at least most of the times, thatâs why I use it all the time. Some have reported that is very slow and the problem is probably that they havenât changed the trackpadâs settings (to change them go to settings-general-trackpad and mouse- trackpad speed.I canât say about the battery for sure as I have only used it for about 30 hours with no problems.The typing experience is not bad especially considering the cost but I would say that itâs worse than the Logitech k380 as a point of reference.The media buttons work like a charm and they are extremely useful.If sleep and wake is turned on in the settings the device sleeps and wakes with the closing and opening of the screen like a laptop.Although itâs made of plastic it has a solid feeling and itâs way heavier than it looks which helps balancing the weight of the iPad.It has a caps lock indicator lightWith the fn key – and space you can turn of and on the trackpad – and right cmd, check the battery level – and arrows, page up or down, home or endSo far Iâve been using it on my lap and I can safely say that itâs been a pretty good experience.All in all and with my experience so far, I would 100% recommend this keyboard case for those that want to transform their iPad into a small laptop.

Excellent after purchase customer service
I have purchased Arteck from Amazon in August and just few days (5 days) past 30 day return policy several keys suddenly stopped working. It was very critical to have it replaced in order to have a working keyboard for the upcoming exams. I could not replace it through Amazon, so I decided to try my luck directly with the manufacturer – ARTECK. I am pleased to report it was the right way forward. Customer service did not disappoint, they acted promptly and dealt with my request in the most professional manner. I was contacted within 48 hours and a new keyboard was posted to me – no questions asked! I received it within a week. The item appeared to be of good quality and well made , unfortunately the item had h hole in the case ( obviously to show the Apple logo through ) I ordered it as the picture showed o solid back , seller was going to make enquiries with manufacturer, havenât heard anything yet , item was returned
