Worth the money
My bun loves to go on this all the time during the summer months. Itâs the perfect size, he likes to lie on it with some of his body on it and some of it not, so he can regulate his temperature how he needs. Stays cool all the time and chew proof!

Very small not worth the money if buying for your Rabbit
I bought two of these as I’ve got two rabbit’s and they need to stay cool in hot weather. They are really small , my bunnie’s did not like them , fit on them and they did not work . Save your money

Not convinced
This is basically just a metal plate. While this means it is bite-proof, it does mean that it’s entirely inflexible. I have a big tank for my gerbils and they fill it with sawdust so the plate gets lost. It would be much better to have a cushion which is softer and more flexible, which also encourages the animal to sit on it.

simple, chew-proof cooling sheet for small furries
I have large French Lop rabbits who suffer terribly during heatwaves and hot weather. I’ve tried ice packs, bottles of iced water and various plastic-coated gel cooling pads, all of which tend to be ignored and the rabbits grow ever hotter and pant uncomfortably.Trial and error has shown that a marble slab is favoured for flopping on but these are expensive so I looked for alternatives and stumbled on these very simple cooling pads last year. They are made from a sheet of aluminium which rabbits do not seem to like to chew which therefore makes them safe for use – unlike some of the gel pads. Similarly, although they could pick them up with their teeth to toss they around, they don’t do this – perhaps because they don’t like the texture on their teeth.In hot weather, like marble, my rabbits seem to be drawn to these sheets and stretch out on them. In especially hot weather, they can be cooled before use by popping in the fridge for 20 minutes although this isn’t actually necessary because they are naturally cool to touch.They are so easy to look after and require next to no maintenance – just a wipe down when needed and any caecotrophs will scrape off. They’re also unbreakable and easy to store during the winter when they’re not needed.Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best and for effectiveness and long-term use, they represent value for money at £11.99. The current size is suitable for small furries such as guinea pigs and small-breed rabbits up to about dwarf lop size but my rabbits and I would like to see double-size versions for the larger breeds.

Itâs not big enough for my rabbit, and sheâs only a Siberian x Netherland Dwarf. She does not want to sit on it, or lay on it and itâs incredibly expensive for what you get.Â

Es hat einige Zeit gebraucht, bis unsere Hasen den kühlenden Effekt verstanden haben. Aber besonders unsere Hasendame lege sich im Hochsommer sehr gerne auf die Platte. Vorteil zu den Gel-Kissen, kann es nicht kaputt genagt werden.
