Great idea if you own Makita batteries
A great idea for replacing worn out Dyson batteries. Fitted straight away. It does obviously makes the Dyson a lot heavier if you use larger Makita batteries, but equally gives you a lot be of flexibility. Have only had short time so can’t comment on how well it will last.

Great replacement for Dyson Battery
I was somewhat skeptical of this adapter to begin with. Mostly because the Dyson battery is rated at 21.6V and the Makita 18V. Well I’m pleased to say it works perfectly!Removing the old battery is easier enough. By unscrewing 3 phillips screws. 2 underneath by the lid of the bin and one at the top of the handle. I reused the screw from the Dyson but it was nice this adapter came with 3 spare screws. Attaching the adapter was the reverse of the removal.With the Makita battery in place the first thing you notice is the balance is a little off. This is to be expected and obviously depends on what size battery you end up using. In my case was a 3Ah one. The dyson worked just as well on normal suction and better on “Max” as my Dyson battery would cut out within 5 seconds on this setting. Another thing to be expected is the Dyson will no longer “stand” securely with the larger Makita battery. Removing the battery solves this issue.This is a great adapter to repurpose batteries you may already have. Or if you want to use a cheaper battery vs that of an official Dyson battery. For example you can get a new Makita 5Ah battery for around the same price of a refurbished Dyson one. The Makita battery capacity will be double that of the Dyson. You will of course need the buy a charger if you do no already have one.Another advantage is the Maktia battery will charge sooo much quicker (allegedly in 45 minute) than the Dyson one. Something I never truly understood who charging was so slow. Probably the voltage won’t allow this but it would have been convenient to still charge the Makita battery via the Dyson. You also have the ability to swap out batteries to keep clean if you have more than one.In terms of running time it will depend on the battery you use. For example I was surprised to seen the 3Ah Makita was only 10Wh more than the Dyson (54Wh vs 44Wh). But if you have or buy a 5Ah one that will have more than double the capacity at 90Wh

Solid build, and works great.
Comes with an instruction sheet and 3x screws to secure to your Dyson. The instruction sheet is basic and doesn’t show how to fit this adaptor. But it’s easy enough, and if you need any help a well known video website can help you there. The adaptor is ruggedly built from (Tough) ABS plastic.Very handy to just swap out your battery now, when the one inserted is discharged.The batteries click in easily, and lock securely.For runtimes a 2ah Dewalt battery lasts around 18 minutes on high power and only 3 on full power.On high power, I think it shuts off quickly as the voltage drop will be greater from a small battery.But I find I have to rarely use the high power mode, with my Dyson V8.If you have a 6ah Dewalt battery, this lasts a whopping 60 minutes, and even on high power it lasts for around 16 minutes. Obviously heavier with this battery, but it’s then possible to do your whole house with just one battery.If you are a tradesman or DIYer with several Dewalt batteries, this is an excellent device to really get the most from your Dyson.

Le fonctionnement est fluide, sans perte de puissance.Points à améliorer : l’adaptateur empêche l’utilisation du support mural Dyson, et il faut acheter séparément une batterie DeWalt, ce qui alourdit la facture.
