Galaxy Gem!
The Galaxy Tab A9 is the first tablet that I have purchased in just over a DECADE; and it’s entirely worth the money!
The performance is what you would expect for a lower end device, but that doesn’t mean that the performance isn’t good, quite the opposite actually. I use the tablet for note taking (Samsung Notes is the only app you need!), watching Netflix & Prime Video.
I also play a variety of casual games (I’ve been a Gamer for over 30 years and I would never use a mobile device as my main console, so for more graphically intensive games I use my home console), and the A9 handles that beautifully! I play Stardew Valley, Cat Quest II, Skul: The Hero Slayer, Good Pizza, Great Pizza & the list goes on, lol! I’ve played these games using the on-screen controls, as well as connecting my Xbox Series X/S controller too, and both work very well. I also use the A9 for digital colouring and it is a joy to use for this purpose.
The screen resolution is great for me, but it must be noted that I have terrible eyesight, so most things unless completely horrible will look good to me.
The A9 is very easy to use and even though I hadn’t had a tablet in such a long time, there was no learning curve for me. I also have an S21 FE 5G, so that could contribute to how easy I found it to use this device.
The A9 isn’t the fastest tablet, but I knew that going in, and because of how I use it, that doesn’t bother me. If you’re looking for a faster tablet then I’d recommend spending the extra money, and buying the Tab A9+.
The speed is sufficient for what you’ll use it for, so don’t let that worry you.
The touchscreen is responsive enough, with only the occasional lag and that usually comes with stylus use, as the styli are impacted by things that might be on the screen or stylus itself, so keeping both clean is essential.
This is a fantastic little device and I’m even happier because I was able to get it on sale. I’ll be buying the Tab A9+ as well, because I do want a larger display, but this is a wonderful reintroduction to the world of tablet’s and I do not regret my purchase at all.

Great product, sturdy and lightweight. Loads quickly and easy to use and the battery is good too. Screen quality is great. Bought for my mum and she loves it.

Not perfect, but very happy.
I bought this tablet because in my view the size and dimensions are perfect for use âon the goâ. The aspect ratio is great for movies, books and magazines. The screen is also fine for emails. I tend to use other systems for documents but there is no reason why it would not work well with these also. Out of the few tablets available of this size I chose the Samsung A9 because I have other Samsung equipment and it fits in well with them for sharing calls and messages.
I protect my tablet with a generic inexpensive glass screen protector and an even less expensive generic gel case; neither effect its usability. The tablet is faster than its predecessor, the A7 lite, and will do everything I ask it to but it does not seem as fast as my S21+ phone. The screen is high quality with perfect touch response and again is fine for my needs but the resolution is unchanged from the A7 lite. It is a shame that there is no fingerprint sensor, although in my experience Samsungâs efforts at fingerprint sensors is very poor. If Samsungâs engineers want to know how to do it properly they should look at the extremely fast and accurate Huawei sensors. The tablet comes with Samsungâs user interface which I cant comment on as I immediately replaced it with the Nova launcher. My A9 is 128/8G which is ample memory but I also use a microSD card for media, like movies and music. I routinely charge the tablet every day but the battery life seems fine.
The tablet is very good, I use it every day and I would buy one again without question.

Terrific Value and almost excellent.
The performance is better than I expected, you do get the occasional lag but for the most part you don’t notice.
Everything about the tablet is typical Samsung a lot of bloatware but does everything very well.
The screen display is quite good and responsive, however I feel that the touch screen element could be better as some touches do not always respond and keystrokes get missed. (My only criticism)
It would have been nice to have in settings a “Touch Sensitivity” setting which would probably help especially if you use a screen protector.
Battery life is pretty good, it lasts me all day and evening for browsing, music, audio books and youtube videos with occasional film. Device care is telling me a full charge lasts around 1 Day and 17 hours.
Mine has 8gb ram and performs beautifully, I think the 4gb version would maybe struggle with some lagging as about 4gb ram is always in use on mine.
Would I buy it again, yes indeed as it is excellent value and an impressive small tablet which does most things very well.
Have added a 1TB microsd card to store a lot of music and film, this also performs very well and currently has around 430GB stored on the card without issue.

Bought 2 of these for my children. Wanted to get out of the amazon ecosystem because the app store is horrific and has so little to offer of value. Also, the lack of youtube kids viability without needing to sideload updates/apps was an increasing pain!
These tablets are sturdy, great screen, android/google ecosystem. Also made it extremely easy to bring it in to the far more intuitive parental protection app of android’s family link. Again, amazon system for this is awful by comparison!
